Abstract

At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature a computing device configured to display visual representations of digital notes and one or more group images representing one or more groups on a user interface, where each group may include one or more digital notes. The computing device is further configured to receive one or more user inputs via the user interface and change the compositions of the groups based on the received user inputs.

Claims

1. A computing device having a processor, the computing device comprising:

a note management application, implemented by the processor, configured to maintain a first group of digital notes and a second group of digital notes;

an image rendering module, implemented by the processor, configured to render a first group image representing the first group of digital notes and a second group image representing the second group of digital notes; and

a user interface configured to display the first group image and the second group image,

wherein the user interface is further configured to receive a first user input indicating a first position within the first group image and a second user input indicating a second position within the second group image, and

wherein the note management application is further configured to, responsive to receiving the first user input and the second user input;

identify a digital note in the first group of digital notes based on the first position,

modify the first group by removing the identified digital note from the first group, and

modify the second group by adding the identified digital note to the second group.

2. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the image rendering module is further configured to render a modified first group image representing the modified first group.

3. The computing device of claim 2, wherein a size of the modified first group image is reduced relative to a size of the first group image.

4. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the image rendering module is further configured to render a modified second group image representing the modified second group.

5. The computing device of claim 4, wherein the image rendering module is further configured to render the identified digital note proximate to the second position within the modified second group image.

6. The computing device of claim 4, wherein a size of the modified second group image is enlarged relative to a size of the second group image.

7. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the digital notes represented in at least one of the first and the second group images are arranged in a grid format.

8. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the user interface includes a touch sensitive device.

9. A computing device having a processor, the computing device comprising:

a note management application, implemented by the processor, configured to maintain a first group of digital notes and a second group of digital notes;

an image rendering module, implemented by the processor, configured to render a first group image representing the first group of digital notes and a second group image representing the second group of digital notes; and

a user interface configured to display the first group image and the second group image,

wherein the user interface is further configured to receive a first user input indicating a first position proximate to a boundary of the first group image and a second user input indicating a second position within the second group image, and

wherein the note management application is further configured to modify, responsive to receiving the first user input and the second user input, the second group of digital notes by adding the digital notes in the first group to the second group.

10. The computing device of claim 9, wherein the image rendering module is further configured to render a modified second group image representing the modified second group of digital notes.

11. The computing device of claim 9, wherein the user interface comprises a touch sensitive device.

12. A computing device having a processor, the computing device comprising:

a note management application, implemented by the processor, configured to maintain a first digital note and a second digital note;

an image rendering module, implemented by the processor, configured to render a visual representation of the first digital note and a visual representation of the second digital note; and

a user interface configured to display the visual representation of the first digital note and the visual representation of the second digital note,

wherein the user interface is further configured to receive a first user input indicating a first position proximate to the visual representation of the first digital note and a second user input indicating a second position proximate to the visual representation of the second digital note,

wherein the note management application is further configured to create a group including the first digital note and the second digital note responsive to receiving the first user input and the second user input.

13. The computing device of claim 12, wherein the image rendering module is further configured to render a group image representing the group and wherein the use interface is further configured to display the group image.

14. The computing device of claim 12, wherein the user interface comprises a touch sensitive device.

15. A method of managing digital notes with a computing device having a memory, a processor and a user interface, the method comprising:

maintaining, by the computing device, a first group of digital notes and a second group of digital notes;

rendering, by the computing device, a first group image representing the first group of digital notes and a second group image representing the second group of digital notes;

displaying, by the computing device and at the user interface, the first group image and the second group image;

receiving, by the computing device, a first user input indicating a first position within the first group image and a second user input indicating a second position within the second group image;

identifying, by the computing device and based at least in part on the first user input and the second user input, a digital note in the first group of digital notes based on the first position;

modifying the first group by removing the identified digital note from the first group; and

modifying the second group by adding the identified digital note to the second group.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

rendering a modified first group image representing the modified first group.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein a size of the modified first group image is reduced relative to a size of the first group image.

18. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

rendering a modified second group image representing the modified second group.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein the identified digital note is rendered proximate to the second position within the modified second group image.

20. The method of claim 18, wherein a size of the modified second group image is enlarged relative to a size of the second group image.

21. The method of claim 15, wherein the digital notes represented in at least one of the first and the second group images are arranged in a grid format.
