- receiving, at the electronic device, a first input;
determining a password theme based on the first input and user preferences associated with the password theme;
displaying the password theme, the displayed password theme comprising a plurality of visual cues;
receiving, at the electronic device, a second input comprising a sequence of visual cues selected from the visual cues;
verifying the sequence of visual cues; and
providing access to the electronic device based on the verification.

In one embodiment, an authentication method is disclosed, comprising: receiving, at the electronic device, a first input; determining a password theme based on the first input and user preferences associated with the password theme; displaying the password theme, the displayed password theme comprising a plurality of visual cues; receiving, at the electronic device, a second input comprising a sequence of visual cues selected from the visual cues; verifying the sequence of visual cues; and providing access to the electronic device based on the verification.
