Abstract

A method is provided for monitoring at least one sensor of a vehicle, which has means for wireless communication, wherein measured values of the at least one sensor are compared to measured values of at least one comparison vehicle with the aid of the means for wireless communication.

Claims

1. A method for monitoring at least one sensor of a vehicle, the sensor including an arrangement for wireless communication, the method comprising:

comparing a measured value of the sensor to a measured values of at least one comparison vehicle with the aid of the arrangement for wireless communication.

2. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the comparison vehicle is located in spatial proximity to the vehicle.

3. The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising:

transmitting the measured value to an arithmetic unit, wherein the arithmetic unit compares the measured value of the sensor to the measured value of the comparison vehicle; and

ascertaining whether the sensor is operating in a faulty manner.

4. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the arithmetic unit compares measured values of the sensor to measured values of a plurality of comparison vehicles and ascertains by at least one statistical method whether the sensor is operating in a faulty manner.

5. The method as recited in claim 4, wherein the arithmetic unit ascertains that the sensor of the vehicle is operating in a faulty manner when the measured values of the at least one sensor of the vehicle deviates by a specifiable value from an average value of the measured values of the plurality of comparison vehicles.

6. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein:

the arithmetic unit is a server outside the vehicle, and

the arrangement for wireless communication include an Internet access.

7. The method as recited in claim 4, wherein the vehicle, when approaching the comparison vehicles, communicates directly with the comparison vehicle and receives the measured values from the comparison vehicle.

8. The method as recited in claim 7, further comprising:

setting a fault flag in an electronic storage of the vehicle, if the measured value of the sensor of the vehicle differs by a specifiable value from the measured value of the comparison vehicle.

The method as recited in claim 8, wherein a conclusion is reached of a fault in the sensor of the vehicle, if the measured value of the sensor of the vehicle differs by a specifiable value from the measured value of the comparison vehicle and the error flag is set in the electronic storage of the vehicle.

10. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the sensor is one of a humidity sensor, a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, a brightness sensor, and a rain sensor.

11. A device for monitoring at least one sensor of a vehicle, comprising:

an arrangement for wireless communication;

an arrangement for comparing a measured value of at least one sensor of the vehicle to a measured value of at least one comparison vehicle; and

an arrangement for ascertaining, as a function of the comparison of the measured value of the sensor to the measured value of the comparison vehicle, whether the sensor is operating in a faulty manner.

12. A computer program developed to carry out a method for monitoring at least one sensor of a vehicle, the sensor including an arrangement for wireless communication, the method comprising:

comparing a measured value of the sensor to a measured values of at least one comparison vehicle with the aid of the arrangement for wireless communication.

13. An electronic storage medium on which a computer program is stored, the computer program being developed to carry out a method for monitoring at least one sensor of a vehicle, the sensor including an arrangement for wireless communication, the method comprising:

comparing a measured value of the sensor to a measured values of at least one comparison vehicle with the aid of the arrangement for wireless communication.

14. An electronic control unit, comprising:

an electronic storage medium on which a computer program is stored, the computer program being developed to carry out a method for monitoring at least one sensor of a vehicle, the sensor including an arrangement for wireless communication, the method comprising;

comparing a measured value of the sensor to a measured values of at least one comparison vehicle with the aid of the arrangement for wireless communication.
