Abstract

An electronic paper display unit includes a protective case, which is made of a transparent material, a display, which is installed in the protective case, is powered to display desired image information, and includes a plurality of divided regions, and a control module, which is electrically connected with the display, and includes a first mode transmitting a divided mode signal such that many pieces of image information are independently displayed on the respective divided regions and a second mode transmitting an integrated mode signal such that one piece of image information is displayed throughout the overall divided regions. Further, a mobile communication terminal can visually display various pieces of image information thereon according to selection of a user.

21. An apparatus including a front surface and another surface non-parallel to the front surface, the apparatus comprising:

a display bent from a first portion of the a front surface of the apparatus towards a second portion of the another surface of the apparatus, the other surface non-parallel to the front surface; and

a controller operatively coupled with the display, the controller configured to control the display to present, in a first mode, content continuously via the first and second portions.

22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the controller is configured to control the display to:

present, in a second mode, the content via the first portion, and another content via the second portion, respectively.

23. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the display forms at least part of a curved edge of the apparatus.

24. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the second portion comprises a plurality of divided portions including a first divided portion and a second divided portion, wherein the controller is configured to:

control the display to display information via the first divided portion independently of the second divided portion.

25. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the controller is configured to:

activate the second portion at least temporarily while the first portion remains inactivated.

26. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the first portion is to be operated using a first power and wherein the second portion is to be operated using a second power different from the first power.

27. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the controller is configured to:

adjust color information of at least part of the content displayed via the second portion based at least in part on the color information of the content displayed via the first portion.

28. A mobile communication device including a front surface and a side surface, the mobile communication device comprising:

a display bent from a first portion of the a front surface of the mobile communication device towards a second portion of the a side surface of the mobile communication device.

29. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein the display is extended from the first portion to the second portion continuously.

30. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein the second portion comprises a curved edge.

31. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein the display is bent from the first portion towards a third portion of another side surface of the mobile communication device.

32. The mobile communication device of claim 31, wherein each of the second portion and the third portion comprises a curved edge.

33. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein the display is extended in a diagonal direction from the first portion.

34. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein at least part of the second portion is configured to display information independently of the first portion.

35. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein the second portion comprises a plurality of divided portions including a first divided portion and a second divided portion, the first divided portion configured to display information independently of the second divided portion.

36. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein the first portion is configured to be inactivated at least temporarily based at least in part on activation of the second portion.

37. The mobile communication device of claim 28, wherein the second portion is configured to be activated at least temporarily while the first portion remains inactivated.

38. The mobile communication device of claim 28, further comprising another display forming at least part of a surface different from the front and side surfaces.

39. The mobile communication device of claim 38, wherein at least one of the display or the other display comprises an electronic ink display.

40. An apparatus including a front surface and another surface non-parallel to the first surface, the apparatus comprising:

a display bent from a first portion of the a front surface of the apparatus towards a second portion of the another surface of the apparatus, the other surface non-parallel to the front surface.
