34. A method for sharing media asset consumption activities via social networking, the method comprising:

receiving a first selection of a first media asset by a first user; subsequent to receiving the first selection, receiving a second selection of a second media asset by the first user; determining whether a second user is authorized to view media asset selections of the first user; and in response to determining that the second user is authorized to view the first selection; generating, for display to the second user, an identifier of the first user and an interactive identifier associated with the first media asset, wherein the generating occurs at a time subsequent to the receiving of the second selection from the first user; receiving a third selection of the interactive identifier by the second user; and in response to receiving the third selection of the interactive identifier, providing the first media asset to the second user. - View Dependent Claims (35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43)

user input circuitry configured to; receive a first selection of a first media asset by a first user; receive a second selection of a second media asset by the first user subsequent to receiving the first selection; and receiving a third selection of an interactive identifier associated with the first media asset by a second user; and control circuitry configured to; determine whether the second user is authorized to view media asset selections of the first user; and in response to determining that the second user is authorized to view the first selection; generate, for display to the second user, an identifier of the first user and the interactive identifier, wherein the generating occurs at a time subsequent to the user input circuitry receiving the second selection from the first user; and provide the first media asset to the second user in response to the user input circuitry receiving the third selection of the interactive identifier. - View Dependent Claims (45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53)
