Abstract

Systems and methods for recommending a health-related action to a user using a portable electronic device are disclosed. The method may include receiving data corresponding to a user'"'"'s first health-related action, storing data in a memory, receiving an indication that the user is engaging in a second health-related action, determining that the second health-related action corresponds to the first health-related action based on the indication, and displaying a recommendation for the second health-related action based on the data corresponding to the user'"'"'s first health-related action.

Claims

1. A portable electronic health coaching system for coaching a user through a health plan using a portable electronic device, comprising:

a display screen;

a user input;

a satellite positioning system receiver;

an accelerometer;

a wireless communication transceiver;

a memory; and

one or more processors configured to;

receive data corresponding to a user'"'"'s first health-related action;

store the data in the memory;

receive an indication that the user is engaging in a second health-related action;

determine that the second health-related action corresponds to the first health-related action based on the indication; and

display a recommendation for the second health-related action based on the data corresponding to the user'"'"'s first health-related action.

2. A method of recommending a health-related action to a user using a portable electronic device, the method comprising:

collecting electronic user data related to a first health-related action via the a portable electronic device, the portable electronic device comprising a microprocessor, a display screen, a user input, a satellite positioning system receiver, an accelerometer, and a wireless communication transceiver;

storing the electronic user data on a computer readable medium;

processing the electronic user data with a microprocessor; and

providing a second health-related action recommendation to the user based on the processed electronic user data.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

displaying the electronic user data related to the first health-related action on the display screen.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein providing the second health-related action recommendation includes displaying the second health-related action recommendation on the display screen.

5. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

correlating the electronic user data related to the first health-related action with electronic user data related to the second health-related action.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the electronic user data is related to the second health-related action is input by the user.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the electronic user data is related to the second health-related action is data previously stored in the computer readable medium.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the electronic user data is related to a physical activity.

9. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

providing a prompt to the user related to the second health-related action.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the prompt is a visual prompt displayed on the display screen.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the prompt is an audio prompt.

12. A method of providing an electronic recommendation to a user related to activity health-related action, the method comprising:

providing an electronic data entry region on a display screen;

collecting personal data related to the user in the entry region;

storing the personal data in a computer readable medium;

collecting activity data related to the user;

storing the activity data related to the user; and

displaying health-related action recommendation, the health-related action recommendation being related to the activity data.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

displaying the activity data on the display screen,

wherein displaying the health-related action recommendation includes displaying the health-related action recommendation on the display screen.

14. The method of claim 12, wherein the activity data is stored in the computer readable medium.

15. The method of claim 14, further comprising:

collecting an annotation related to the activity data; and

storing the annotation in the computer readable medium.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

displaying the annotation on the display screen.

17. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

providing a menu region on the display screen to control an electronic function.

18. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

displaying the activity data on a second display screen,

wherein displaying the health-related action recommendation includes displaying the health-related action recommendation on the second display screen.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein the activity data is stored in a second computer readable medium.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising:

collecting an annotation related to the activity data;

storing the annotation in the second computer readable medium; and

displaying the annotation on the second display screen.
