Abstract

The present invention relates a method and apparatus for setting a group-based connection. A connection setting method for a network entity according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: receiving a request including at least one packet filter from a terminal; obtaining a group identifier corresponding to the packet filter by using the packet filter; when a group bearer corresponding to the group identifier does not exist, generating a group bearer corresponding to the group identifier; and performing allocation such that communication corresponding to the request is performed through the generated group bearer. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a service can be efficiently provided to a terminal.

Claims

1. A method for setting a connection of a network entity, the method comprising steps of:

receiving a request including at least one packet filter from user equipment (UE);

obtaining a group identifier corresponding to the packet filter by using the packet filter;

creating a group bearer corresponding to the group identifier if the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier does not exist; and

performing allocation such that a communication corresponding to the request is performed through the created group bearer.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising steps of:

obtaining a group PCC (Policy and Charging Control) rule corresponding to the group identifier from a data structure stored in the network entity;

installing the packet filter to which the PCC rule is applied; and

transferring the packet filter to the UE.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising steps of:

transmitting the group identifier to an auxiliary node;

receiving a group PCC (Policy and Charging Control) rule corresponding to the group identifier from the auxiliary node;

installing the packet filter to which the PCC rule is applied; and

transferring the packet filter to the UE.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising step of:

if the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier exists, performing allocation such that a communication corresponding to the request is performed through the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising step of:

transferring the group identifier to other network entity.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the other network entity ascertains existence of the group bearer, based on the transferred group identifier.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the other network entity includes at least one of MME (Mobility Management Entity) and eNB (evolved Node B).

8. The method of claim 1, wherein UE-AMBR (Aggregate Maximum Bit Rate) of the UE is calculated excluding group APN-AMBR associated with the group bearer.

9. A network entity comprising:

a communication unit configured to receive a request including at least one packet filter from user equipment (UE); and

a control unit configured to obtain a group identifier corresponding to the packet filter by using the packet filter, to create a group bearer corresponding to the group identifier if the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier does not exist, and to perform allocation such that a communication corresponding to the request is performed through the created group bearer.

The network entity of claim 9, wherein the control unit is further configured to obtain a group PCC (Policy and Charging Control) rule corresponding to the group identifier from a data structure stored in the network entity, to install the packet filter to which the PCC rule is applied, and to transfer the packet filter to the UE.

11. The network entity of claim 9, wherein the communication unit is further configured to transmit the group identifier to an auxiliary node and to receive a group PCC (Policy and Charging Control) rule corresponding to the group identifier from the auxiliary node,

wherein the control unit is further configured to install the packet filter to which the PCC rule is applied, and

wherein the communication unit is further configured to transfer the packet filter to the UE.

The network entity of claim 9, wherein the control unit is further configured to, if the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier exists, perform allocation such that a communication corresponding to the request is performed through the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier.

13. The network entity of claim 9, wherein the communication unit is further to transfer the group identifier to other network entity.

14. The network entity of claim 13, wherein the other network entity ascertains existence of the group bearer, based on the transferred group identifier.

15. The network entity of claim 13, wherein the other network entity includes at least one of MME (Mobility Management Entity) and eNB (evolved Node B).

16. The network entity of claim 9, wherein UE-AMBR (Aggregate Maximum Bit Rate) of the UE is calculated excluding group APN-AMBR associated with the group bearer.

17. A method for setting a connection of a network entity, the method comprising steps of:

receiving a request including at least one packet filter from other network entity;

obtaining a group identifier corresponding to the packet filter by using the packet filter;

obtaining a group PCC (Policy and Charging Control) rule corresponding to the group identifier; and

transmitting the obtained group identifier and the PCC rule to the other network entity.

The method of claim 17, wherein the other network entity that receives the group identifier and the PCC rule creates a group bearer corresponding to the group identifier if the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier does not exist, and performs allocation such that a communication corresponding to the request is performed through the created group bearer.

19. A network entity comprising:

a communication unit configured to receive a request including at least one packet filter from other network entity; and

a control unit configured to obtain a group identifier corresponding to the packet filter by using the packet filter, and to obtain a group PCC (Policy and Charging Control) rule corresponding to the group identifier,

wherein the communication unit is further configured to transmit the obtained group identifier and the PCC rule to the other network entity.

The network entity of claim 19, wherein the other network entity that receives the group identifier and the PCC rule creates a group bearer corresponding to the group identifier if the group bearer corresponding to the group identifier does not exist, and performs allocation such that a communication corresponding to the request is performed through the created group bearer.
