Abstract

A system includes a first mobile device configured to provide information concerning a physical location of the first mobile device and a second mobile device configured to receive the information concerning the physical location of the first mobile device. A contacts database is provided for the first mobile device based on input of a user of the first mobile device such that communication is allowed with the second mobile device based on the contacts database.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a first mobile device configured to provide information concerning a physical location of the first mobile device; and

a second mobile device configured to receive the information concerning the physical location of the first mobile device,

wherein a contacts database is provided for the first mobile device based on input of a user of the first mobile device such that communication is allowed with the second mobile device based on the contacts database.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the contacts database includes at least one preference associated with each contact within the contacts database.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the first mobile device is configured to display an indicator of availability of the user to the second mobile device.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the location of the first mobile device is updated automatically at various intervals.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the second mobile device requests the physical location of the first mobile device in order to enter into communication with the first mobile device.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the first mobile device is configured to receive location-based content when the physical location of the first mobile device is determined.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein the location-based content is provided in response to a subscription from the first mobile device.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the first mobile device is configured to receive location-based commands based on the physical location of the first mobile device.

9. A mobile device comprising:

a memory containing computer programmable code configured to;

receive information concerning a physical location of another mobile device,

wherein a contacts database is provided for the another mobile device based on input of a user of the another mobile device such that communication is allowed with the mobile device based on the contacts database.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the contacts database includes at least one preference associated with each contact within the contacts database.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the another mobile device is configured to display an indicator of availability of the user to the mobile device.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the location of the another mobile device is updated automatically at various intervals.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the mobile device requests the physical location of the another mobile device in order to enter into communication with the another mobile device.

14. The system of claim 9, wherein the another mobile device is configured to receive location-based content when the physical location of the another mobile device is determined.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the location-based content is provided in response to a subscription from the another mobile device.

16. A method comprising:

at a first mobile device, receiving information concerning a physical location of another mobile device,

wherein a contacts database is provided for the first mobile device based on input of a user of the first mobile device such that communication is allowed with a second mobile device based on the contacts database.
