Abstract

A vehicle computing system enables one or more processors to control a plurality of vehicle features. The vehicle computing system may control a plurality of vehicle features while determining and selecting occupant preferences for those features. The vehicle computing system may receive input including occupant selections of an application requesting user control. The vehicle computing system may receive context variables at the time of occupant selections. The vehicle computing system may store in memory the occupant selections of the vehicle feature settings and/or controls with the associated context variables. The vehicle computing system may determine an occupant preference to an input request using an associative rule filter based on the occupant selections stored in memory. The vehicle computing system may assign a predetermined amount of time after the application input is requested to allow control of the vehicle feature based on an associative rule filter output.

21. A vehicle system comprising:

at least one processor configured to,

identify context variables present at a time of a previous advertisement selection;

in response to the context variables and the previous advertisement selection, generate a ranked list of advertisements using an associative rule filter; and

in response to a plurality of advertisements available based on the context variables, output an advertisement to a device according to the advertisement'"'"'s order on the ranked list.

22. The vehicle system of claim 21, wherein the context variables include one or more of GPS coordinates, time of day, day of week, and month.

23. The vehicle system of claim 21, wherein the processor is additionally configured to receive biometric information and wherein the associative rule filter takes as input the biometric information.

24. The vehicle system of claim 23, wherein the biometric information includes one or more of a driving profile, driver body temperature, and driver heart rate.

25. The vehicle system of claim 21, wherein the at least one processor is additionally configured to:

establish communication with a wireless device; and

receive the plurality of advertisements from the wireless device.

26. The vehicle system of claim 25, wherein the communication with the wireless device is via BLUETOOTH.

27. The vehicle system of claim 21 wherein the processor is additionally configured to:

establish communication with a wireless device;

receive biometric information from the wireless device;

store the biometric information with the context variables at a time of receiving the previous advertisement selection; and

update the ranked list based on biometric information associated with the previous advertisement selection.

28. The vehicle system of claim 21, wherein the device is at least one of a touchscreen display, a stereo system output, and a speaker.

29. A computer-program product embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium for a vehicle processor comprising instructions for:

in response to a request received to output an advertisement, outputting the advertisement to a vehicle display according to an order of a plurality of advertisements on a ranked list generated by an associative rule filter that identifies context variables present at a time of an occupant selection of one or more previous advertisements.

30. The computer-program product of claim 29, the non-transitory computer readable medium further comprising instructions for:

establishing communication with a wireless device executing an application requesting the advertisement.

31. The computer-program product of claim 29, wherein the plurality of advertisements on the ranked list includes one or more advertisements available to the occupant based on a vehicle GPS location.

32. The computer-program product of claim 29, wherein the context variables include one or more of a GPS location, environmental conditions, and occupant cognitive load as determined by the vehicle processor.

33. The computer-program product of claim 29, the non-transitory computer readable medium further comprising instructions for:

receiving biometric information, wherein the associative rule filter takes as input the biometric information.

34. The computer-program product of claim 33, wherein the biometric information includes one or more of a driving profile, driver body temperature, and driver heart rate.

35. An advertising method comprising:

identifying, via a vehicle processor, context variables present at a time of a previous advertisement selection;

in response the context variables and the previous advertisement selection, generate a ranked list of advertisements using an associative rule filter; and

in response to a request for an advertisement received from an application, outputting the advertisement based on a plurality of advertisements available according to the advertisement'"'"'s order on the ranked list.

36. The advertising method of claim 35, wherein the context variables include one or more of GPS coordinates, time of day, day of week, and month.

37. The advertising method of claim 35, further comprising receiving biometric information and wherein the associative rule filter takes as input the biometric information.

38. The advertising method of claim 37, wherein the biometric information includes one or more of a driving profile, driver body temperature, and driver heart rate.

39. The advertising method of claim 35, further comprising:

establishing communication with a wireless device; and

receiving the plurality of advertisements from the wireless device.

40. The advertising method of claim 35, further comprising:

establishing communication with a wireless device;

receiving biometric information from the wireless device;

storing the biometric information with the context variables at a time of receiving the previous advertisement selection; and

transmitting the advertisement to the wireless device based on the biometric information.
