1. A channel selector comprising:
- a) a first filter having a first terminal and a second terminal;
b) a second filter having a first terminal coupled to the first terminal of the first filter and a second terminal;
c) a first single pole, single throw (SPST) switch having first terminal and a second terminal, the first and second terminals being electrically connected when the switch is closed and electrically isolated when the switch is open, the first terminal being coupled to the second terminal of the first filter;
d) a second SPST switch having first terminal and a second terminal, the first and second terminals being electrically connected when the switch is closed and electrically isolated when the switch is open, the first terminal being coupled to the second terminal of the second filter; and
e) a combiner/splitter having two isolation terminals and a common terminal, the first isolation terminal being coupled to the second terminal of the first switch and the second isolation terminal being coupled to the second terminal of the second switch.

1. A channel selector comprising:

a) A first and second filter, each filter having a first and second terminal; b) A first and second receive/transmit switch, each switch having a pole and two throws, the pole of the first switch coupled to the first terminal of the first filter and the pole of the second switch coupled to the first terminal of the second filter; c) A first and second power amplifier, each power amplifier having an input and an output, the output of the first amplifier coupled to the first throw of the first switch and the output of the second amplifier coupled to the first throw of the second switch; d) A first and second low noise amplifier, each low noise amplifier having an input and an output, the input to the first low noise amplifier coupled to the second throw of the first switch and the input to the second low noise amplifier coupled to the second throw of the second switch; e) A splitter having a first and second isolation port and a common port, the first isolation port coupled to the input to the first power amplifier, the second isolation port coupled to the input to the second power amplifier; and f) A combiner having a first and second isolation port and a common port, the first isolation port being coupled to the output of the first low noise amplifier and the second isolation port being coupled to the output of the second low noise amplifier. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10)

11. A receive/transmit selection and combining module comprising:

a) a splitter having a first and second isolation port and a common port; b) a combiner having a first and second isolation port and a common port; c) a first and second power amplifier, each power amplifier having an input and an output port, the input port of the first power amplifier coupled to the first isolation port of the splitter, the input of the second power amplifier coupled to the second isolation port of the splitter; d) a first and second low noise amplifier, each low noise amplifier having an input and an output, the input to the first low noise amplifier coupled to the first isolation port of the combiner and the input to the second low noise amplifier coupled to the second isolation port of the combiner; and e) a first and second single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch, the first throw of the first SPDT switch coupled to the output of the first power amplifier, the second throw of the first SPDT switch coupled to the input to the first low noise amplifier, the first throw of the second SPDT switch coupled to the output of the second power amplifier, the second throw of the second SPDT switch coupled to the input to the second low noise amplifier.

12. A diplexer comprising:

a) a first filter having a first and second terminal; b) a second filter having a first and second terminal, the second terminal of the first filter coupled to the second terminal of the second filter, wherein the first filter has a frequency response with a high frequency 3 dB cutoff point that is equal to or lower in frequency than the low frequency 3 dB cutoff point of the second filter; c) a third filter having a first and second terminal, the first terminal of the first filter coupled to the first terminal of the third filter; d) a fourth filter having a first and second terminal, the first terminal of the second filter coupled to the first terminal of the fourth filter e) a first single pole double throw (SPDT) switch the first throw of the first SPDT switch coupled to the second terminal of the third filter and the second throw of the first SPDT switch coupled to the second terminal of the fourth filter; f) a second SPDT switch, the first throw of the second SPDT switch coupled to the second terminal of the first filter and the second throw of the second SPDT switch coupled to the pole of the first SPDT switch; g) receive/transmit selection and combining module comprising; i) a first filter port; ii) a second filter port; iii) a splitter having a first and second isolation port and a common port; iv) a combiner having a first and second isolation port and a common port; v) a first and second power amplifier, each power amplifier having an input and an output port, the input port of the first power amplifier coupled to the first isolation port of the splitter, the input of the second power amplifier coupled to the second isolation port of the splitter; vi) a first and second low noise amplifier, each low noise amplifier having an input and an output, the input to the first low noise amplifier coupled to the first isolation port of the combiner and the input to the second low noise amplifier coupled to the second isolation port of the combiner; and vii) a third and fourth single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch, the first throw of the third SPDT switch coupled to the output of the first power amplifier, the second throw of the third SPDT switch coupled to the input to the first low noise amplifier, the pole of the third switch coupled to the first filter port, the first throw of the fourth SPDT switch coupled to the output of the second power amplifier, the second throw of the fourth SPDT switch coupled to the input to the second low noise amplifier, the pole of the fourth switch coupled to the second filter port. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17)

a) a first filter having a first and second terminal; b) a second filter having a first and second terminal, the second terminal of the first filter coupled to the second terminal of the second filter, wherein the first filter has a frequency response with a high frequency 3 dB cutoff point that is equal to or lower in frequency than the low frequency 3 dB cutoff point of the second filter; c) a third filter having a first and second terminal, the first terminal of the first filter coupled to the first terminal of the third filter; d) a fourth filter having a first and second terminal, the first terminal of the second filter coupled to the first terminal of the fourth filter, wherein the third filter has a frequency response with a high frequency 3 dB cutoff point that is equal to or lower in frequency than the low frequency 3 dB cutoff point of the fourth filter; e) a first SPDT switch, the first throw of the first SPDT switch coupled to the second terminal of the first filter and the second throw of the first SPDT switch coupled to the second terminal of the third filter and to the second terminal of the fourth filter; f) receive/transmit selection and combining module comprising; i) a first filter port; ii) a second filter port; iii) a splitter having a first and second isolation port and a common port; iv) a combiner having a first and second isolation port and a common port; v) a first and second power amplifier, each power amplifier having an input and an output port, the input port of the first power amplifier coupled to the first isolation port of the splitter, the input of the second power amplifier coupled to the second isolation port of the splitter; vi) a first and second low noise amplifier, each low noise amplifier having an input and an output, the input to the first low noise amplifier coupled to the first isolation port of the combiner and the input to the second low noise amplifier coupled to the second isolation port of the combiner; and vii) a third and fourth single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch, the first throw of the third SPDT switch coupled to the output of the first power amplifier, the second throw of the third SPDT switch coupled to the input to the first low noise amplifier, the pole of the third switch coupled to the first filter port, the first throw of the fourth SPDT switch coupled to the output of the second power amplifier, the second throw of the fourth SPDT switch coupled to the input to the second low noise amplifier, the pole of the fourth switch coupled to the second filter port; - View Dependent Claims (19)

20. A method of selecting signals from a combined signal, the method comprising:

a) receiving a signal within a common port of a splitter; b) coupling the signal from a first isolation port of the splitter to a first switch and from a second isolation port of the splitter to a second switch; c) coupling an output from the first switch to a first terminal of a first filter; d) coupling an output from the second switch to a first terminal of a second filter; e) coupling a second terminal of the first filter to a common output port and to a second terminal of the second filter; and f) selecting signals from one of three frequency bands to be passed from the common port of the splitter to the common output port by selectively opening or closing the first and second switch.

21. A method of selecting between transmission and reception of signals from a combined signal, the method comprising:

a) receiving a signal within a common port of a splitter; b) coupling the output of a first and second isolation port of the splitter to the input of a first and second power amplifier, respectively; c) coupling the output of the first and second power amplifier to a first throw of a first and second single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch, respectively; d) coupling the pole of the first and second SPDT switch to a first terminal of a first and second filter, respectively; e) coupling a second terminal of the first filter to a second terminal of a second filter and to a common output port; f) coupling a second throw of the first and second SPDT switch to the input of a first and second low noise amplifier, respectively; g) coupling an output of the first and second low noise amplifier to a first and second isolation input of a combiner, respectively; and h) selecting between the first and second throw of the first and second SPDT switch to select between; i) transmission of signals having a frequency within a low-pass band; ii) reception of signals having a frequency within the low-pass band; iii) transmission of signals having a frequency within the high-pass band iv) reception of signals having a frequency within the high-pass band; v) transmission of signals having a frequency within a band-pass band; vi) reception of signals having a frequency within the band-pass band.
