1. A communication system comprising:
- a transmitter having a first coil, a first capacitor which has first and second plates, said first plate being connectable to a living body;
said second plate being configured to be exposed to an environment, wherein said transmitter is configured to generate an electromagnetic induction field having a magnetic near field and an electric near field; and
a receiver having a second coil;
a second capacitor which has third and fourth plates, said third plate being connectable to the living body;
said fourth plate being connectible to the environment, there being no galvanic connection between said transmitter and ground or between said receiver and ground.
