Abstract

A mobile station device transmits a random access preamble to a base station device. The base station device receives the random access preamble from the mobile station device and transmits, to the mobile station device, a Random Access-Radio Network Temporary Identity (RA-RNTI) which notifies a resource assignment of a random access response. The mobile station device further monitors downlink control channels while detecting both a Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identity (C-RNTI) and the RA-RNTI, in which a downlink control channel includes the RA-RNTI and a downlink control channel includes the C-RNTI which notifies a resource assignment of downlink data. Upon detection of the C-RNTI and the RA-RNTI in a same sub-frame, the mobile station receives both the random access response and the downlink data, or receives either the random access response or the downlink data.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a mobile station device, a random access preamble to a base station device;

monitoring, by the mobile station device, both a Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identity (C-RNTI) and a Random Access-Radio Network Temporary Identity (RA-RNTI); and

upon detection of the C-RNTI and the RA-RNTI in a same sub-frame by the mobile station device, receiving a random access response in response to the random access preamble and transmitting uplink data;

wherein the RA-RNTI identifies the random access response and the C-RNTI notifies a resource assignment of the uplink data.

2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising:

monitoring, by the mobile station device, the C-RNTI at an arbitrary timing.

3. The method according to claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, by the mobile station device, the random access response upon detection of the RA-RNTI instead of the C-RNTI.

4. The method according to claim 1, further comprising:

transmitting, by the mobile station device, the uplink data upon detection of the C-RNTI instead of the RA-RNTI.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the resource assignment of the uplink data is an uplink grant of the uplink data.

6. A mobile station device, comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit a random access preamble;

a processor connected to the transceiver; and

a non-transitory computer readable medium connected to the processor and having stored thereon instructions, that, when executed, cause the processor to;

monitor both a Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identity (C-RNTI) and a Random Access-Radio Network Temporary Identity (RA-RNTI);

wherein the transceiver further is configured to, upon detection of the C-RNTI and the RA-RNTI in a same sub-frame, receive a random access response in response to the random access preamble and transmit uplink data; and

wherein the RA-RNTI identifies the random access response and the C-RNTI notifies a resource assignment of uplink data.

7. The device according to claim 6, wherein the processor is further configured to monitor the C-RNTI at an arbitrary timing.

8. The device according to claim 6, wherein the transceiver is further configured to receive, upon detection of the RA-RNTI instead of the C-RNTI, the random access response.

9. The device according to claim 6, wherein the transceiver is further configured to transmit, upon detection of the C-RNTI instead of the RA-RNTI, the uplink data.

10. The device according to claim 6, wherein the resource assignment of the uplink data is an uplink grant of the uplink data.

11. A mobile station device, comprising:

a transceiver that transmits a random access preamble; and

a processor that monitors both a Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identity (C-RNTI) and a Random Access-Radio Network Temporary Identity (RA-RNTI);

wherein the transceiver, upon detection of the C-RNTI and the RA-RNTI in a same sub-frame, further receives a random access response in response to the random access preamble and transmits uplink data; and

wherein the RA-RNTI identifies the random access response and the C-RNTI notifies a resource assignment of uplink data.

12. The device according to claim 11, wherein the processor further monitors the C-RNTI at an arbitrary timing.

13. The device according to claim 11, wherein the transceiver further receives, upon detection of the RA-RNTI instead of the C-RNTI, the random access response.

14. The device according to claim 11, wherein the transceiver further transmits, upon detection of the C-RNTI instead of the RA-RNTI, the uplink data.

15. The device according to claim 11, wherein the resource assignment of the uplink data is an uplink grant of the uplink data.
