Abstract

A mirror device permitting a driver using the device to view forward and rearward of the vehicle. The device provides the visual field of the conventional and/or modern side-view mirror and also extends the visual field to view areas, regions, and/or objects which are forward to allow a line of sight that might otherwise be blocked by an obstruction.

Claims

1. A forward and rearward viewing mirror device for permitting a driver using the device to see forward and rearward of a vehicle, said device including:

A unit having a first chamber being located on a face of said unit and a second chamber being located axially to said first chamber on said unit, said first chamber having an element therein to permit housing into said first chamber and said second chamber having an element therein to permit housing into said second chamber;

3. An arm for securing said unit to the vehicle, said arm having a first end and a second end, said first end of said arm being adapted for mounting to said vehicle, said second end of said arm being coupled to said unit;

4. A first mirror for viewing rearward of the vehicle, said first mirror being housed into said element of said first chamber;

5. A second mirror for viewing forward of the vehicle, said second mirror being housed into said element of said second chamber;

6. Wherein said first mirror is adapted for displaying to the driver the visual field rearward of the vehicle, wherein said second mirror is adapted for displaying to the driver the visual field forward of the vehicle.

7. A forward and rearward viewing mirror device for permitting a driver using the device to see forward and rearward of a motor vehicle, said device including:

A unit having a first chamber being located on a face of said unit and a second chamber being located axially to said first chamber on said unit, said first chamber having an element therein to permit housing into said first chamber and said second chamber having an element therein to permit housing into said second chamber;

9. An arm for securing said unit to the motor vehicle, said arm having a first end and a second end, said first end of said arm being adapted for mounting to said motor vehicle, said second end of said arm being coupled to said unit;

10. A first mirror for viewing rearward of the motor vehicle, said first mirror being housed into said element of said first chamber;

11. A second mirror for viewing forward of the motor vehicle, said second mirror being housed into said element of said second chamber;

12. Wherein said first mirror is adapted for displaying to the driver the visual field rearward of the motor vehicle, wherein said second mirror is adapted for displaying to the driver the visual field forward of the motor vehicle.

13. A forward and rearward viewing mirror device for permitting a driver using the device to see forward and rearward of an automobile, said device including:

A unit having a first chamber being located on a face of said unit and a second chamber being located axially to said first chamber on said unit, said first chamber having an element therein to permit housing into said first chamber and said second chamber having an element therein to permit housing into said second chamber;

15. An arm for securing said unit to the automobile, said arm having a first end and a second end, said first end of said arm being adapted for mounting to said automobile, said second end of said arm being coupled to said unit;

16. A first mirror for viewing rearward of the automobile, said first mirror being housed into said element of said first chamber;

17. A second mirror for viewing forward of the automobile, said second mirror being housed into said element of said second chamber;

18. Wherein said first mirror is adapted for displaying to the driver the visual field rearward of the automobile, wherein said second mirror is adapted for displaying to the driver the visual field forward of the automobile.
