Abstract

A method and apparatus for receiving a mobile message are provided. The apparatus includes a Mobile Messaging (MM) client configured to receive the mobile message based on an Internet Protocol (IP) push manner; a Short Messaging Service (SMS) client configured to receive the mobile message based on SMS push manner; and a module configured to select one of the IP push manner and the SMS manner as a manner for receiving the mobile message.

Claims

1. An apparatus for receiving a mobile message, the apparatus comprising:

a Mobile Messaging (MM) client configured to receive the mobile message based on an Internet Protocol (IP) push manner;

a Short Messaging Service (SMS) client configured to receive the mobile message based on SMS push manner; and

a module configured to select one of the IP push manner and the SMS manner as a manner for receiving the mobile message.

2. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:

a push client configured to receive an arrival notification indicating the mobile message is arrived from a push server.

3. The apparatus as claimed in claim 2, when the SMS manner is selected as the manner for receiving the mobile message, the module turns off the push client.

4. The apparatus as claimed in claim 3, wherein the SMS client receives the arrival notification from the push server.

5. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, when the MM client is off, the SMS client activates the MM client and informs the MM client that the mobile message is arrived, and

wherein the MM client receives the mobile message.

6. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, when the MM client is on, the SMS client informs the MM client that the mobile message is arrived, and

wherein the MM client receives the mobile message.

7. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, wherein the SMS client receives the mobile message.

8. The apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein the SMS client converts the mobile message into an SMS type.

9. The apparatus as claimed in claim 2, when the IP push manner is selected as the manner for receiving the mobile message, the module turns on the push client.

10. The apparatus as claimed in claim 9, wherein the push client receives the arrival notification and informs the MM client that the mobile message is arrived.

11. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, the module selects the manner for receiving the mobile message based on user input.

12. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, the module selects the manner for receiving the mobile message based on whether wireless internet communication is possible or not.

13. A method of receiving a mobile message, the method comprising:

selecting one of an Internet Protocol (IP) push manner and a Short Message Service (SMS) manner as a manner for receiving the mobile message;

receiving an arrival notification indicating the mobile message is arriving from a push server; and

receiving the mobile message according to a manner for receiving the mobile message.

14. The apparatus as claimed in claim 13, further comprising:

receiving the mobile message according to the SMS manner when the SMS manner is selected as the manner for receiving the mobile message; and

converting the mobile message into an SMS type.

15. The apparatus as claimed in claim 13, further comprising:

receiving the mobile message according to the IP push manner when the IP push manner is selected as the manner for receiving the mobile message.

16. The apparatus as claimed in claim 13, wherein the selecting one of the IP push manner and the SMS manner as a manner for receiving the mobile message comprises selecting the manner for receiving the mobile message based on user input.

17. The apparatus as claimed in claim 13, wherein the selecting one of the IP push manner and the SMS manner as a manner for receiving the mobile message comprises selecting based on whether wireless interne communication is possible.

18. An apparatus for receiving a mobile message according to an Internet Protocol (IP) push manner or a Short Message Service (SMS) manner, the apparatus comprising:

a module for determining one of the IP push manner and the SMS manner as a manner for receiving the mobile message; and

a Mobile Messaging (MM) client for sending an information about the manner for receiving the mobile message determined by the module to an MM server.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, further comprising:

an SMS client for receiving an arrival notification by a short message, when the SMS push manner is determined as the manner for receiving the mobile message.

20. The apparatus of claim 18, further comprising:

a screen for displaying a user interface for resetting the manner for receiving the mobile message.
