Abstract

A method and apparatus for reproducing a portion of handwriting displayed on a screen in a same temporal manner in which the handwriting was handwritten.

Claims

1. A device comprising:

a display unit that displays handwriting on a screen;

a user input unit that receives a user input for selecting a portion of the handwriting displayed on the display unit; and

a control unit configured to control the display unit to reproduce the selected portion of the handwriting in a same temporal manner in which the portion of the handwriting was handwritten.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the control unit is further configured to control the display unit to reproduce the selected portion of the handwriting according to position information of the selected portion and time information of the selected portion.

3. The device of claim 2, wherein the position information comprises time-sampled positions at which the handwriting is handwritten, and

wherein the time information comprises sampling times of the time-sampled positions.

The device of claim 1, wherein the control unit is further configured to obtain timestamp information of the handwriting, and control the display unit to reproduce the selected portion of the handwriting in the same temporal manner according to timestamp information of the selected portion of the handwriting.

5. The device of claim 4, wherein the control unit is further configured to reproduce the selected portion of the handwriting while reproducing multimedia content synchronized with the portion of the handwriting.

6. The device of claim 1, wherein the input specifies a region of interest on the handwriting displayed on the screen, and

the control unit selects the portion of the handwriting corresponding to the region of interest.

7. The device of claim 6, wherein the handwriting comprises at least one stroke, the at least one stroke associated with a coordinate at which the at least one stroke was handwritten,

and wherein the control unit selects the portion of the handwriting corresponding to the region of interest based on a coordinate associated with at least one stroke of the portion of the handwriting.

8. The device of claim 1, wherein the control unit is further configured to control the display unit to display a control panel comprising a reproduce function button within a predetermined distance from the portion of the handwriting when the portion of the handwriting is selected, and

the user input unit receives an input for activating the reproduce function button via the control panel.

9. The device of claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to extract strokes included in the portion of the handwriting, and determine an order of strokes of the portion of the handwritten content by using timestamp information corresponding to the strokes.

10. The device of claim 9, wherein the control unit is configured to determine a first stroke that is input first from among the strokes as a start position and a last stroke that is input last from among the strokes as an end position.

11. The device of claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to extract moving image content or audio content corresponding to the portion of the handwriting, and provide the extracted moving image content or the extracted audio content.

12. The device of claim 11, wherein, when plural portions of the handwriting are selected, the control unit provides a list of a plurality of moving image contents corresponding to the plural portions of the handwriting.

13. The device of claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to edit the handwriting by using time information of strokes included in the portion of the handwriting.

14. A method of reproducing handwriting on a screen of a device, the method comprising:

displaying handwriting on the screen of the device;

receiving a user input that selects a portion of the handwriting displayed on the screen; and

reproducing the selected portion of the handwriting in a same temporal manner in which the portion of the handwriting was handwritten.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the reproducing comprises reproducing the selected portion of the handwriting according to position information of the selected portion and time information of the selected portion.

16. The device of claim 15, wherein the position information comprises time-sampled positions at which the handwriting is handwritten, and

wherein the time information comprises sampling times of the time-sampled positions.

17. The method of claim 14, further comprising obtaining timestamp information of the handwriting,

wherein the reproducing comprises reproducing the selected portion of the handwriting in the same temporal manner according to timestamp information of the selected portion of the handwriting.

18. The method of claim 14, wherein the receiving comprises:

receiving an input that specifies a region of interest on the handwriting displayed on the screen; and

selecting the portion of the handwriting corresponding to the region of interest.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein the handwriting comprises at least one stroke, the at least one stroke associated with a coordinate at which the at least one stroke was handwritten,

and wherein the reproducing comprises selecting the portion of the handwriting corresponding to the region of interest based on a coordinate associated with at least one stroke of the portion of the handwriting.
