Abstract

An adhesive tape dispenser includes a tape roll housing holding a cutter blade, a protective member mounted in the tape roll housing and movable relative to the tape roll housing to a first position to expose the cutter blade, a front cover mounted in the tape roll housing in such a manner that the front cover is prohibited from being opened when the protective member is in the first position, or can be opened or received when the protective member is moved to a second position. Further, the cutter blade can be mounted in a cutter holder that is installed in the tape roll housing. With the slidable or biasable design of the protective member and the front cover, the user can selectively expose the cutter blade or enable the cutter blade to be blocked.

Claims

1. An adhesive tape dispenser, comprising:

a tape roll housing (10) comprising a cutter (21);

a protective member (23) mounted in said tape roll housing (10) and movable relative to said tape roll housing (10) between a first position (A1) to expose said cutter blade (21) and a second position (A2) to block said cutter blade (21); and

a front cover (30) mounted in said tape roll housing (10), where said front cover (30) is prohibited from being opened from said tape roll housing (10) when said protective member (23) is in the first position (A1), where said front cover (30) is movable relative to said tape roll housing (10) between an open status and a received status when said protective member (23) is in the second position (A2).

2. The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 1, wherein said protective member (23) is movable between said first position (A1) and second position (A2) by a sliding motion or pivoting motion.

3. The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 2, wherein said tape roll housing (10) comprises a engagement portion (17);

said protective member (23) comprises a retaining lug (234) adapted for engagement with said engagement portion (17) of said tape roll housing (10).

The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 3, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.

The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 2, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.

6. The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 1, wherein said tape roll housing (10) comprises an engagement portion (17);

said protective member (23) comprises a retaining lug (234) adapted for engagement with said engagement portion (17) of said tape roll housing (10).

The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 6, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.

The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.

9. An adhesive tape dispenser, comprising:

a tape roll housing (10);

a cutter holder (20) mounted in said tape roll housing (10), said cutter holder (20) comprising a cutter blade (21) fixedly mounted in said tape roll housing (10), and a protective member (23) movable relative to said tape roll housing (10) between a first position (A1) to expose said cutter blade (21) and a second position (A2) to block said cutter blade (21); and

a front cover (30) mounted in said tape roll housing (10), where said front cover (30) is prohibited from being opened from said tape roll housing (10) when said protective member (23) is in the first position (A1), where said front cover (30) is movable relative to said tape roll housing (10) between an open status and a received status when said protective member (23) is in the second position (A2).

10. The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 9, wherein said protective member (23) is movable between said first position (A1) and second position (A2) by a sliding motion or pivoting motion.

11. The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 10, wherein said tape roll housing (10) comprises a engagement portion (17);

said protective member (23) comprises a retaining lug (234) adapted for engagement with said engagement portion (17) of said tape roll housing (10).

The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 11, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.

The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 10, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.

14. The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 9, wherein said tape roll housing (10) comprises an engagement portion (17);

said protective member (23) comprises a retaining lug (234) adapted for engagement with said engagement portion (17) of said tape roll housing (10).

The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 14, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.

16. The adhesive tape dispenser as claimed in claim 9, further comprising a locking mechanism (40) mounted in a bottom panel (13) of said tape roll housing (10) adjacent to said front cover (30), said locking mechanism (40) comprising a operating member (41), and a locating member (47) connected to said operating member (41) and movable by said operating member (41) between a locked status or an unlocked status.
