1. A surgical instrument, comprising:

  • a housing assembly including a motor;

    a shaft portion extending from the housing assembly;

    an end effector, comprising;

    a staple cartridge including a plurality of staples;

    a firing member configured to deploy the plurality of staples; and

    a datum portion positioned proximal to the staple cartridge;

    an articulation joint configured to permit the end effector to articulate relative to the shaft portion; and

    a drive assembly, comprising;

    a drive member configured to move the firing member in response to at least one driving motion from the motor; and

    a stop configured to engage the datum portion to limit the movement of the drive member after the plurality of staples are fired.
