Abstract

Provided herein are systems and methods for providing exclusive wireless service proposals to subscribers. A method for providing an exclusive wireless service proposal to a subscriber includes the steps of conducting measurements of at least one metric; sending measurement data acquired during the step of conducting to a measurement analysis machine (MAM), the MAM being configured to analyze the measurement data; analyzing the measurement data; predicting performance of at least one of wireless voice and wireless data services based upon the results of the analysis step; generating a proposal for exclusive wireless services based upon the measurement data and the performance prediction; and providing the proposal to a subscriber. Systems for performing this and additional or alternative methods are also disclosed.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

calculating, by a measurement analysis machine, based on measurement data associated with a performance of a wireless service at a service address of a user, a wireless service performance metric, wherein the wireless service performance metric represents the performance of the wireless service measured by a mobile device when the mobile device is at the service address of the user;

determining, by the measurement analysis machine, a cost associated with the wireless service;

determining, by the measurement analysis machine, an alternative service performance metric, wherein the alternative service performance metric represents a performance of an alternative service at the service address;

determining, by the measurement analysis machine, a cost associated with the alternative service; and

in response to at least one of the wireless service performance metric indicating an improvement over the alternative service performance metric or the cost associated with the wireless service being less than the cost associated with the alternative service, generating, by the measurement analysis machine, for the user, a notification regarding the wireless service.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the measurement data comprises at least one of signal strength, a signal quality, or a data throughput of a wireless signal measured by the mobile device when the mobile device is at the service address of the user.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the method further comprises verifying that the mobile device is at the service address of the user using a location determining technique.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving, from the mobile device, the measurement data associated with the performance of the wireless service.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the measurement data is transmitted by the mobile device via a short message system message.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the alternative service comprises a wireline service.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the alternative service comprises wireline and wireless services.

8. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a measurement analysis machine, cause the measurement analysis machine to perform operations comprising:

calculating, based on measurement data associated with a performance of a wireless service at a service address of a user, a wireless service performance metric, wherein the wireless service performance metric represents the performance of the wireless service measured by a mobile device when the mobile device is at the service address of the user;

determining a cost associated with the wireless service;

determining an alternative service performance metric, wherein the alternative service performance metric represents a performance of an alternative service at the service address;

determining a cost associated with the alternative service;

in response to at least one of the wireless service performance metric indicating an improvement over the alternative service performance metric or the cost associated with the wireless service being less than the cost associated with the alternative service, generating, for the user, a notification regarding the wireless service.

9. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the measurement data comprises at least one of signal strength, signal quality, or a data throughput of a wireless signal measured by the mobile device when the mobile device is at the service address of the user.

10. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise verifying that the mobile device is at the service address of the user using a location determining technique.

11. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise receiving, from the mobile device, the measurement data associated with the performance of the wireless service.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11, wherein the measurement data is transmitted by the mobile device via a short message system message.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the alternative service comprises a wireline service.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise providing, to the user, the notification regarding the wireless service.

15. A method comprising:

calculating, by a measurement analysis machine, based on measurement data associated with a performance of a wireless service at a service address of a user, a wireless service performance metric, wherein the wireless service performance metric represents the performance of the wireless service measured by a mobile device when the mobile device is at the service address of the user;

determining, by the measurement analysis machine, a cost associated with the wireless service;

determining, by the measurement analysis machine, an alternative service performance metric, wherein the alternative service performance metric represents a performance of an alternative service at the service address;

determining, by the measurement analysis machine, a cost associated with the alternative service;

in response to at least one of the wireless service performance metric indicating an improvement over the alternative service performance metric or the cost associated with the wireless service being less than the cost associated with the alternative service, generating, by the measurement analysis machine, for the user, a notification regarding the wireless service; and

providing, by the measurement analysis machine, to the user, the notification regarding the wireless service.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the method further comprises verifying that the mobile device is at the service address of the user using a location determining technique.

17. The method of claim 15, further comprising receiving, from the mobile device, the measurement data associated with the performance of the wireless service.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the measurement data is transmitted by the mobile device via a short message system message.

19. The method of claim 15, wherein the alternative service comprises a wireline service.

20. The method of claim 15, wherein the alternative service comprises wireline and wireless services.
