1. A tissue cavity preparation tool comprising:
- a first elongated body having a first sharp edge and a first face, wherein the first elongated body curves in a plane parallel to the first face when the first elongated body is in a planar configuration;
a second elongated body having a second sharp edge and a second face, wherein the second elongated body curves in a plane parallel to the second face when the second elongated body is in a planar configuration; and
an elongated rotator defining a longitudinal axis and being configured to;
retain a first end of the first body and a second end of the first body such that the first end is spaced longitudinally apart from the second end and the first face forms a first cone-like surface; and
retain a first end of the second body and a second end of the second body such that the first end of the second body is spaced longitudinally apart from the second of the second body and the second face forms a second cone-like surface;
wherein the first elongated body is disposed opposite the second elongated body.

1. A tissue cavity preparation tool comprising:

a first elongated body having a first sharp edge and a first face, wherein the first elongated body curves in a plane parallel to the first face when the first elongated body is in a planar configuration; a second elongated body having a second sharp edge and a second face, wherein the second elongated body curves in a plane parallel to the second face when the second elongated body is in a planar configuration; and an elongated rotator defining a longitudinal axis and being configured to; retain a first end of the first body and a second end of the first body such that the first end is spaced longitudinally apart from the second end and the first face forms a first cone-like surface; and retain a first end of the second body and a second end of the second body such that the first end of the second body is spaced longitudinally apart from the second of the second body and the second face forms a second cone-like surface; wherein the first elongated body is disposed opposite the second elongated body. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23)

7. The tool of claim 1 wherein:

the first elongated body defines a first central axis and the first elongated body has a first length along the first central axis; the second elongated body defines a second central axis and the second elongated body has a second length along the second central axis; and the second length is greater than the first length.

8. The tool of claim 1 wherein the first elongated body has a first heat-set shape and the second elongated body has a second heat-set shape that is different from the first heat-set shape.

9. The tool of claim 1 further comprising:

a first elongated controller that is configured to change a longitudinal distance between the first end of the first elongated body and the second end of the first elongated body; and a second elongated controller that is configured to change a longitudinal distance between the first end of the second elongated body and the second end of the second elongated body.

10. The tool of claim 1 further comprising:

a loop, the first and second elongated bodies extending therefrom; and a coupler that couples the loop to the rotator.

11. The tool of claim 10 wherein the coupler includes a transverse member that is transverse to the longitudinal axis, is supported by the rotator, and engages the loop by passing through the loop.

12. The tool of claim 10 wherein:

the first elongated body, the second elongated body and the loop are of monolithic construction; the loop forms a spirally wound spring; and the loop absorbs strain from the elongated members when the elongated members are subjected to stress.

13. The tool of claim 12 wherein the stress is directed radially inward toward the rotator.

14. The tool of claim 12 wherein the stress is directed circumferentially about the rotator.

15. The tool of claim 1 further comprising an outer sleeve concentric with the rotator, the outer sleeve configured to slide axially along the longitudinal axis toward a distal end of the rotator.

16. The tool of claim 1 wherein the rotator is flexible.

17. The tool of claim 1 wherein the rotator is rigid.

18. The tool of claim 1 wherein:

the first elongated body defines a central axis; the first end of the first elongated body is disposed at an angular displacement, about the central axis, from the first edge, when the first elongated body is in a planar configuration; and the rotator further defines a radial direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction and is configured to retain the first end of the first elongated body in an orientation normal to the radial direction.

19. The tool of claim 18 wherein:

the angular displacement is a first angular displacement; the second end of the first elongated body is disposed at a second angular displacement, about the central axis, from the first edge, when the first elongated body is in a planar configuration; and the rotator is further configured to retain the second end of the first elongated body in an orientation normal to the radial direction.

20. The tool of claim 19 wherein the second angular displacement is about equal in magnitude to the first angular displacement.

21. The tool of claim 19 wherein the second angular displacement is greater than the first angular displacement.

22. The tool of claim 19 wherein the second angular displacement is opposite in direction from the first angular displacement.

23. The tool of claim 19 wherein the second angular displacement is in the same direction as the first angular displacement.

24. A tissue cavity preparation tool comprising:

a broaching member including a first elongated body, a second elongated body and a loop, the first and second bodies and the loop being of monolithic construction, wherein; the first elongated body defines a first central axis through the first body and includes a first face, a first body first end, a first body second end and a sharp convex first edge, wherein when the first elongated body is in a planar configuration; the first elongated body curves in a plane parallel to the first face; and the first body second end is twisted, about the first central axis, relative to the first face; the second elongated body defines a second central axis through the second body and includes a second face, a second body first end, a second body second end and a sharp convex second edge, wherein when the second elongated body is in a planar configuration; the second elongated body curves in a plane parallel to the second face; and the second body second end that is twisted, about the second central axis, relative to the second face; a rotator defining a longitudinal axis, the rotator being configured to; retain the first body second end such that the first body second end is spaced longitudinally apart from the first body first end and the first face forms a cone-like surface; retain the second body second end such that the second body second end is spaced longitudinally apart from the second body first end and the second face forms a cone-like surface; and retain the first body opposite the second body; and a fastener engaging the loop, the first body first end and the second body first end together forming the loop, wherein the loop forms a spirally wound spring and absorbs strain from the first and second elongated bodies when the elongated bodies are subjected to stress. - View Dependent Claims (25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)
