Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a device having a display component that displays encrypted information. In an embodiment, a system includes a user interface of a device comprising a display module, wherein the user interface receives information entered by a user of the device. The system also includes a detector that detects surroundings around the device or the user of the device. The system further includes at least one hardware processor in communication with the user interface and the detector that automatically encrypts all or portions of the information based on the detected surroundings and causes the automatically encrypted information to be displayed on the display module.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a user interface of a device comprising a display module for providing a user an option to select all or portions of information that is to be displayed as encrypted as the user enters the information on the user interface, and

at least one hardware processor in communication with the user interface that encrypts the information selected by the user and causes the selected information to be displayed as encrypted on the display module.

The system of claim 1, wherein the user interface receives the information entered by the user on one or more information fields corresponding to one or more interfaces selectable by the user, wherein the selectable interfaces provide the option to select at least one information field to be encrypted.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the display module displays an interface selectable by the user to encrypt all the information entered by the user.

4. A system comprising:

a user interface of a device comprising a display module, wherein the user interface receives information entered by a user of the device;

a detector that detects surroundings around the device or the user of the device; and

at least one hardware processor in communication with the user interface and the detector that automatically encrypts all or portions of the information based on the detected surroundings and causes the automatically encrypted information to be displayed on the display module.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the detector further comprises specialized hardware that detects that the user is entering information into the user interface of the device in a public environment.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the detector detects only one or more other trusted devices in the public environment, and wherein the at least one hardware processor does not encrypt certain or all of the information entered by the user on the device.

The system of claim 5, wherein the detector detects an identity of one or more other users in proximity to the device in the public environment, and wherein the at least one hardware processor determines encryption of certain or all the information entered by the user based on the detected identity.

8. The system of claim 4, wherein the at least one hardware processor automatically encrypts all or portions of the information dynamically and based on typical user behaviors or histories.

The system of claim 8, further comprising a non-transitory memory storing the typical user behaviors or histories, which include user selections of specific information to be encrypted at specific locations, such that in response to the detector detecting the specific locations, the typical user behaviors or histories associated with the detected specific locations determine the information to be encrypted.

The system of claim 4, wherein the detector further comprises specialized hardware that detects that the user is entering information into the user interface of the device in a trusted environment, and wherein the at least one hardware processor does not encrypt certain or all of the information entered by the user on the device.

11. The system of claim 4, wherein the detector further comprises a geo-location services component that detects a location of the device or the user, wherein the location determines automatically encrypting of the information.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the geo-location services component detects the location as being a dangerous location including at least one of a dangerous zipcode, a street or an area, wherein the at least one hardware processor automatically encrypts the information based on the dangerous location.

13. The system of claim 4, wherein the device determines the surroundings based at least in part on one or more IP addresses as the device accesses or connects to one or more WiFi nodes, wherein the IP addresses are associated with one or more public places, and wherein the at least one hardware processor automatically encrypts the information based on the IP addresses.

The system of claim 4, wherein the at least one hardware processor automatically encrypts the information in response to one or more components or modules of the device detecting surroundings comprising at least one of a crowded space, a public place location or IP address, or a dangerous location.

15. The system of claim 4, wherein the device further comprises a user device including a mobile device or a Point of Sale terminal or device of a seller.

16. A method comprising:

receiving, on a user interface of a device comprising a display module, information entered by a user of the device;

detecting, by at least one detector component of the device, surroundings around the device or the user of the device;

automatically encrypting, by at least one hardware processor in communication with the user interface and the detector component(s), the information entered by the user based on the detected surroundings; and

displaying, by the display module, the automatically encrypted information.

The method of claim 16, wherein the automatically encrypting further comprises automatically encrypting the information in response to one or more components or modules of the device detecting surroundings comprising at least one of a detected location or a detected identity of one or more users in proximity to the device.

18. The method of claim 16, further comprising determining that the detected surroundings further comprise at least one of a trusted location or one or more trusted users or devices such that certain or all the information entered by the user is not encrypted.

19. The method of claim 16, further comprising displaying, on the display component, a check out page hosted by a service provider server or device in connection with a transaction.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising executable modules which, in response to execution by a computer system, cause the computer system to perform a method comprising:

receiving, on a user interface of a device comprising a display module, information entered by a user of the device;

detecting, by at least one detector component, surroundings around the device or the user of the device;

automatically encrypting, by at least one hardware processor in communication with the user interface and the detector component(s), the information entered by the user based on the detected surroundings; and

displaying, by the display module, the automatically encrypted information.
