Abstract

A wireless power reception method of a wireless power receiver for receiving power from a wireless power transmitter is disclosed. The wireless power receives a connection signal for identifying the wireless power receiver from the wireless power transmitter; transmitting a response signal in response to the connection signal to the wireless power transmitter; negotiating a power transmission condition with the wireless power transmitter; and receiving the power using resonance frequency band according to the negotiated power transmission condition. Furthermore, frequency band for exchanging information used for the power reception is different from the resonance frequency band. In addition, the negotiating of the power transmission condition comprises: receiving first state information of the wireless power transmitter from the identified wireless power transmitter, and transmitting second state information to the wireless power transmitter, the second state information being determined from the wireless power receiver based on the first state information of the wireless power transmitter.

Claims

1. A wireless power transmission method of a wireless power transmitter using a resonance coil via a resonance frequency band for transmitting power to a wireless power receiver, the wireless power transmission method comprising:

detecting a change of state of the wireless power transmitter during transmitting power to the wireless power receiver;

transmitting changed state information due to the detected change of state of the wireless power transmitter to the wireless power receiver via a specific frequency band;

receiving a first specific state information from the wireless power receiver via the specific frequency band; and

transmitting power adjusted based on the first specific state information to the wireless power receiver via the resonance frequency band,

wherein the resonance frequency band includes a resonance-coupled frequency between the wireless power transmitter and the wireless power receiver and is different from the specific frequency band,

wherein the changed state information includes a first available amount of power of the power transmission for the wireless power receiver, and

wherein the first specific state information comprises a first demanded amount of power of the wireless power receiver, in which the first demanded amount of power includes an adjusted power of the wireless power receiver within the first available amount of power of the wireless power transmitter.

2. The wireless power transmission method of claim 1, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes detection of a new wireless power receiver during transmitting the power to the wireless power receiver via the resonance frequency band.

3. The wireless power transmission method of claim 2, further comprising:

transmitting a connection signal for identifying the new wireless power receiver; and

identifying the new wireless power receiver by receiving a response signal corresponding to the connection signal from the new wireless power receiver.

4. The wireless power transmission method of claim 1, wherein the changed state information of the wireless power transmitter includes a dedicated identification number given for the wireless power receiver.

5. The wireless power transmission method of claim 2, further comprising:

checking if a second available amount of power of the wireless power transmission for the new wireless power receiver is changed;

transmitting a state information of the wireless power transmitter to the new wireless power receiver via the specific frequency band;

receiving a second specific state information from the new wireless power receiver via the specific frequency band; and

transmitting power adjusted based on the second specific state information to the new wireless power receiver via the resonance frequency band,

wherein the state information of the wireless power transmitter includes the second available amount of power of the power transmission for the new wireless power receiver, and

wherein the second specific state information comprises a second demanded amount of power of the new wireless power receiver, in which the second demanded amount of power includes an adjusted power of the new wireless power receiver within the changed available amount of power of the wireless power transmitter.

The wireless power transmission method of claim 5, wherein the first available amount of power of the power transmission for the wireless power receiver and the second available amount of power of the power transmission for the new wireless power receiver have a different ratio of the power transmission for the wireless power receiver and the new wireless power receiver.

7. The wireless power transmission method of claim 1, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes a change of the first available amount of power of the power transmission for the wireless power receiver.

8. The wireless power transmission method of claim 1, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes a change of a number of wireless power receivers connected to the wireless power transmitter.

9. The wireless power transmission method of claim 1, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes that an unexpected data packet is transmitted between the wireless power transmitter and the wireless power receiver.

10. The wireless power transmission method of claim 1, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes a time out situation in which the power transmission is stopped after a predetermined time has elapsed from a removal of a wireless power receiver that receives the power.

11. A wireless power transmitter using a resonance coil via a resonance frequency band for transmitting power to a wireless power receiver, the wireless power transmitter comprising:

a transmitting unit configured to transmit a connection signal for identifying a wireless power receiver;

an identifying unit configured to identify the wireless power receiver by receiving a response signal corresponding to the connection signal from the wireless power receiver;

a negotiation unit configured to;

detect a change of state of the wireless power transmitter during transmitting power to the wireless power receiver, transmit changed state information due to the detected change of state to the wireless power receiver of the wireless power transmitter to the wireless power receiver via a specific frequency band, the changed state information including a first available amount of power of the wireless power transmitter for the wireless power receiver, and

receive a first specific state information from the wireless power receiver via the specific frequency band, the first specific state information including a first demanded amount of power of the wireless power receiver, in which the first demanded amount of power includes an adjusted power of the wireless power receiver within the first available amount of power of the wireless power transmitter; and

a control unit configured to transmit power adjusted based on the first specific state information to the wireless power receiver via the resonance frequency band including a resonance-coupled frequency between the wireless power transmitter and the wireless power receiver and being different from the specific frequency band.

12. The wireless power transmitter of claim 11, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes detection of a new wireless power receiver during transmitting power to the wireless power receiver via the resonance frequency band.

13. The wireless power transmitter of claim 12, wherein the negotiation unit is further configured to:

check if a second available amount of power of the wireless power transmission for the new wireless power receiver is changed,

transmit a state information of the wireless power transmitter to the new wireless power receiver via the specific frequency band,

receive a second specific state information from the new wireless power receiver via the specific frequency band,

wherein the state information of the wireless power transmitter includes the second available amount of power of the power transmission for the new wireless power receiver, and

wherein the second specific state information comprises a second demanded amount of power of the new wireless power receiver, in which the second demanded amount of power includes an adjusted power of the new wireless power receiver within the second available amount of power of the wireless power transmission, and

transmit power adjusted based on the second specific state information to the new wireless power receiver via the resonance frequency band.

The wireless power transmitter of claim 13, wherein the first available amount of power of the power transmission for the wireless power receiver and the second available amount of power of the power transmission for the new wireless power receiver have a different ratio of the power transmission for the wireless power receiver and the new wireless power receiver.

15. The wireless power transmitter of claim 11, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes a change of the first available amount of power of the power transmission for the wireless power receiver.

16. The wireless power transmitter of claim 11, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes a change of a number of wireless power receivers connected to the wireless power transmitter.

17. The wireless power transmitter of claim 11, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes that an unexpected data packet is transmitted between the wireless power transmitter and the wireless power receiver.

18. The wireless power transmitter of claim 11, wherein the change of state of the wireless power transmitter includes a time out situation in which the power transmission is stopped after a predetermined time has elapsed from a removal of a wireless power receiver that receives the power.
