Abstract

A method is provided to produce a custom calendar user interface (UI) display on an electronic device display screen comprising: providing a search query to a user device; sending the search query over the network to a server system; receiving over the network by one or more user devices from a server system, information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query; using the identified one or more identified code objects by the one or more user devices to generate one or more visual content items within a calendar user interface (UI) grid display on their device display screens.

Claims

1. A method to produce a custom calendar user interface (UI) display on an electronic device display screen comprising:

providing a search query to a user device;

sending the search query over the network to a server system;

receiving over the network by one or more user devices from a server system, information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query;

using the identified one or more identified code objects by the one or more user devices to generate one or more visual content items within a calendar user interface (UI) grid display on their device display screens.

2. The method of claim 1,

wherein receiving information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query includes receiving the one or more code objects.

3. The method of claim 1,

wherein receiving information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query, includes receiving a calendar UI information structure that indicates a chronological ordering of the identified matching code objects;

and further including;

using the received calendar UI information structure to map the one or more visual content items to date panes within the calendar user interface (UI) grid display on the device display screen.

4. The method of claim 1,

wherein receiving information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query includes receiving information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query and that are associated with dates within a prescribed date range;

sending a request over the network to the server system for information indicating identified matching code objects associated with dates within an extended date range that is outside of the prescribed date range;

receiving over the network from the server system, information that identifies one or more additional code objects that match the search query and that are associated with dates within an extended date range; and

using the identified one or more additional code objects to generate one or more visual content items within the calendar user interface (UI) grid display on a device display screen.

5. The method of claim 1 further including:

sending over a network from different user devices to the server system, different code objects that are associated with dates, wherein the code objects are adapted for use to generate visual content items on the different user device display screens;

wherein receiving over the network from the server system, information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query includes receiving information that matches multiple different code objects sent over the network by different user devices to the server system.

6. The method of claim 5,

wherein the sending the code objects includes sending code objects that are associated with dates;

and

wherein at least two code objects that are sent are associated with the different dates

7. The method of claim 1,

wherein the search query identifies two or more of a task, a task deadline, a milestone, a keyword, and a person.

8. The method of claim 1,

wherein the search query includes attribute information;

and

wherein the received information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query includes attribute information that matches the attribute information in the search query.

9. An article of manufacture including a non-transitory computer readable storage device encode with computer readable code to configure a computer system to perform a process that comprises:

providing first input to a user device, wherein the first input defines a search query;

sending a search query over the network to a server system;

receiving over the network from a server system, information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query;

using the identified one or more identified code objects to generate one or more visual content items within a calendar user interface (UI) grid display on a device display screen.

10. A system to produce a custom calendar user interface (UI) display on an electronic device display screen comprising:

a user interface field at a user device to receive a search query provided to a user device;

a network interface configured to send the search query over a network to a server system;

a network interface at each of one or more user devices configured to receive from a server system, information that identifies one or more code objects that match the search query; and

means at each the one or more user devices for using the one or more identified code objects to generate the one or more visual content items within a calendar user interface (UI) grid display on their device display screens.
