Abstract

A voicemail notification indicates a caller has recorded a voicemail. The voicemail notification may be sent to any destination, such as a caller'"'"'s device. The voicemail notification may be displayed in a communication log to visually indicate that the voicemail was recorded. A different notification may be sent and displayed to indicate the recipient retrieved the voicemail.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a server, a notification indicating a device has retrieved a voicemail, the device associated with a network address;

receiving, by the server, a location associated with the device at which the voicemail was retrieved; and

adding, by the server, an entry to an electronic database, the entry electronically associating the location at which the voicemail was retrieved to the network address associated with the device.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising retrieving an electronic voicemail retrieval icon.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising sending an electronic notification including the electronic voicemail retrieval icon to indicate the voicemail was retrieved.

4. The method of claim 2, further comprising sending an electronic notification to the network address associated with the device, the electronic notification including the electronic voicemail retrieval icon to indicate the voicemail was retrieved.

5. The method of claim 2, further comprising displaying the electronic voicemail retrieval icon in a communications log to indicate the device retrieved the voicemail.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising sending an indication to a different device, the different device associated with a user recording the voicemail, the indication indicating the voicemail was retrieved.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving a date and a time associated with retrieval of the voicemail.

8. A system, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory storing code that when executed causes the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising;

receiving a notification indicating a device has retrieved a voicemail, the device associated with a network address;

receiving global positioning system information associated with the device retrieving the voicemail, the global positioning system information describing a retrieval location at which the device retrieved the voicemail; and

adding an entry to an electronic database, the entry electronically associating the global positioning system information describing the retrieval location to the network address associated with the device.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise receiving a name associated with a recipient associated with the voicemail.

10. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise receiving a name associated with a sender associated with the voicemail.

11. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise receiving a name associated with the voicemail.

12. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise retrieving an electronic voicemail retrieval icon.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the operations further comprise sending an electronic notification including the electronic voicemail retrieval icon to indicate the voicemail was retrieved.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the operations further comprise sending an electronic notification to the network address associated with the device, the electronic notification including the electronic voicemail retrieval icon to indicate the voicemail was retrieved.

15. A memory device storing instructions that when executed cause a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving a notification indicating a device has retrieved a voicemail, the device associated with a network address;

receiving global positioning system information associated with the device retrieving the voicemail, the global positioning system information describing a retrieval location at which the device retrieved the voicemail; and

adding an entry to an electronic database, the entry electronically associating the global positioning system information describing the retrieval location to the network address associated with the device.

16. The memory device of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise receiving a name associated with a recipient associated with the voicemail.

17. The memory device of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise receiving a name associated with a sender associated with the voicemail.

18. The memory device of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise receiving a name associated with the voicemail.

19. The memory device of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise retrieving an electronic voicemail retrieval icon.

20. The memory device of claim 19, wherein the operations further comprise sending an electronic notification including the electronic voicemail retrieval icon to indicate the voicemail was retrieved.
