Abstract

A visor for use in a vehicle is disclosed. The visor comprises a pivot rod and a carrier arranged over the pivot rod. The visor also comprises a first and second shell being engagable to form a visor body and a vanity arranged therein. The visor also comprises a light base secured to the second shell and a circuit board engaging the light base. The visor also comprises a light emitting diode secured to a surface of the circuit board.

Claims

1. A visor for use in a vehicle, said visor comprising:

a pivot rod;

a first and second shell being engageable to form a visor body;

a vanity secured to said first shell;

a mirror having at least one clear end, said mirror secured within said vanity by a vanity frame;

a circuit board arranged within a first channel of said first shell;

a light guide arranged adjacent to said circuit board, said light guide positioned underneath said clear end of said mirror; and

a light emitting diode secured to a surface of said circuit board.

2. The visor of claim 1 further comprising a door pivotally connected to said vanity frame.

3. The visor of claim 1 further comprising a plurality of vanity frame snaps extending from a bottom surface of said vanity frame.

4. The visor of claim 3 wherein said first shell having a plurality of locking slots arranged around an outside circumference of a vanity pocket arranged therein.

5. The visor of claim 4 wherein said locking slots interact with and engage with said vanity frame snaps to secure the vanity to said visor body.

6. The visor of claim 1 wherein said vanity frame having an inward extending flange arranged therefrom.

7. The visor of claim 6 wherein said flange secures said mirror within said vanity, said flange engages said mirror around an entire outer edge of said mirror.

8. The visor of claim 1 wherein said light guide is arranged within a second channel of a vanity pocket of said first shell.

9. The visor of claim 1 wherein said mirror having said clear end on both ends thereof.

10. The visor of claim 1 wherein said light emitting diode illuminates said light guide, said light guide is illuminated from under said mirror.

11. The visor of claim 6 wherein said mirror is engaged with said flange on a top thereof and with said first shell on a bottom thereof.

12. A visor for use in a vehicle, said visor comprising:

a pivot rod;

a first and second shell being engageable to form a visor body;

a vanity pocket formed within said first shell;

a mirror arranged within said vanity pocket;

a door mounting member secured to said first shell at a top portion of said vanity pocket;

a door pivotally connected to said door mounting member;

a circuit board arranged within a first channel of said vanity pocket;

a light guide arranged adjacent to said circuit board, said light guide positioned underneath an end of said mirror; and

a light emitting diode secured to a surface of said circuit board.

13. The visor of claim 12 further comprising a wire harness channel arranged within said vanity pocket.

14. The visor of claim 13 further comprising at least one wire electrically connected to said circuit board, said wire arranged within said wire harness channel.

15. The visor of claim 12 wherein said door mounting member having a plurality of locking snaps extending from a surface thereof.

16. The visor of claim 15 wherein said first shell having a plurality of locking slots through a surface thereof.

17. The visor of claim 16 wherein said locking slots interengage with said locking snaps to secure said mounting member to said first shell.

18. The visor of claim 12 further comprising a door spring arranged between a spring pocket of said door mounting member and a door hinge of said door.

19. The visor of claim 12 wherein said mirror having a clear end on both ends thereof.

20. The visor of claim 12 wherein said mirror is secured to said vanity pocket by an adhesive, tape, or hook and loop connector.
