Abstract

Supervisors, managers, enterprises, organizers, etc. must ensure appropriate staffing by employees and/or volunteers to achieve their goals for each event, activity etc. at each location. However, unplanned absent individuals impact this ability and can absorb significant time and effort to overcome by re-allocating existing present individuals or seeking replacements at short or even no notice. Accordingly, each individual addressing this seeks the ability to establish communications to individuals or group of individuals rapidly, with low complexity and management overhead, knowing that those identified meet their requirements without searching/reviewing personnel profiles etc. Further, such individuals seek the ability to dynamically view and address problems within their domain of responsibility irrespective of where they are in relation to the event etc. Such issues can be addressed through the methods and systems according to the invention.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

monitoring individuals assigned to an event and assigned at least one of a role, a location, a venue and a shift with respect to their being checked in to the event with respect to at least one of the location and the shift;

comparing the checked in individuals for the event and assigned at least one of the role, the location, the venue and the shift to verify whether a quota associated with the event for the at least one of the role, the location, and the shift has been met;

upon failure to verify providing to a user an indication of the status of the number of checked in individuals relative to the quota for the at least one of the role, the location, the venue and the shift.

2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising providing the user with an indication of each of the individuals assigned and the status of each individual upon an action of the user in response to the indication;

and

providing the user with an ability to remove an individual not checked in at least one of;

from the event and the at least one of the role, the location, the venue and the shift;

from the event and a plurality of at least one of roles, locations, venues and shifts; and

from the event.

3. The method according to claim 1, further comprising providing the user with an indication of each of the individuals assigned and the status of each individual upon an action of the user in response to the indication;

and

providing the user with an ability to initiate communications to a replacement individual with respect to their assignment to the event and the at least one of the role, the location, the venue and the shift.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein

each individual was assigned in dependence upon a policy chain and a profile of the individual.

5. The method according to claim 3, wherein

the replacement individual is established from a list of replacement individuals presented to the user, wherein each replacement individual is established in dependence upon a policy chain relating to the individual being replaced and a profile of the replacement individual.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein

a policy chain establishes at least one of a role, a location, a venue, a shift, a shift status, a qualification, a skill and an event of at least one of a participant in the event, an employee associated with an enterprise supporting the event, and a volunteer to the event.

7. A method comprising:

monitoring individuals assigned to an event, a shift relating to the event and at least one of a location and a venue relating to the event with respect to their being able to check in to the event at the location with a timing commensurate with the shift;

verifying the individuals established as being able to check in meet a quota associated with the event, the location, the venue and the shift;

upon failure to verify providing to a user an indication of the individuals established as being able to check in meet a quota associated with the event, the location, and the shift relative to the quota for the event, the location, the venue and the shift.

8. The method according to claim 7, wherein

in addition to the event, shift, and location each individual and the quota relates to a predetermined role.

9. The method according to claim 7, further comprising

providing the user with an indication of each of the individuals assigned and the status of each individual upon an action of the user in response to the indication;

and

providing the user with an ability to remove an individual not checked in at least one of;

from the event and the at least one of the location, the venue and the shift;

from the event and a plurality of at least one of locations, venues and shifts; and

from the event.

10. The method according to claim 7, further comprising

providing the user with an indication of each of the individuals assigned and the status of each individual upon an action of the user in response to the indication;

and

providing the user with an ability to initiate communications to a replacement individual with respect to their assignment to the event and the at least one of the location, the venue and the shift.

11. The method according to claim 7, wherein

each individual was assigned in dependence upon a policy chain and a profile of the individual.

12. The method according to claim 10, wherein

the replacement individual is established from a list of replacement individuals presented to the user, wherein each replacement individual is established in dependence upon a policy chain relating to the individual being replaced and a profile of the replacement individual.

13. The method according to claim 7, wherein

a policy chain establishes at least one of a role, a location, a venue, a shift, a shift status, a qualification, a skill and an event of at least one of a participant in the event, an employee associated with an enterprise supporting the event, and a volunteer to the event.

14. The method according to claim 7, wherein

the user and the individual have no prior association except that they are both associated with the event, the location and the shift.

15. The method according to claim 7, wherein

the user has no knowledge of the individual other than their name as all communications relating to the event are managed through a software application in execution upon electronic devices associated with each of the user and the individual.
