Abstract

A method of communicating between an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) device in a vehicle and a mobile terminal. The method includes receiving, via a communication unit of the IVI device, application data from the mobile terminal for executing a prescribed application on the IVI device; displaying, via a display of the IVI device, one of a first execution screen having a first execution depth and a second execution screen having a second execution depth higher than the first execution depth for the prescribed application; receiving an interrupt request for requesting the one of the first and second execution screens stopped being displayed; displaying, via the display of the IVI device, the first execution screen having the first execution depth in response to the second execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request; and displaying, via the display of the IVI device, a list of certified applications certified for the IVI device or switch a launcher application to a foreground, in response to the first execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request.

Claims

1. A method of communicating between an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) device in a vehicle and a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

receiving, via a communication unit of the IVI device, application data from the mobile terminal for executing a prescribed application on the IVI device;

displaying, via a display of the IVI device, one of a first execution screen having a first execution depth and a second execution screen having a second execution depth higher than the first execution depth for the prescribed application;

receiving an interrupt request for requesting the one of the first and second execution screens stopped being displayed;

displaying, via the display of the IVI device, the first execution screen having the first execution depth in response to the second execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request; and

displaying, via the display of the IVI device, a list of certified applications certified for the IVI device or switch a launcher application to a foreground, in response to the first execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first execution screen having the first execution depth corresponds to displaying a list of items to be executed on the IVI device.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the second execution screen having the second execution depth corresponds to executing an application corresponding to a selected item and displaying the second execution screen corresponding to the executing application.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the interrupt request is caused by a touch input of either a home button or a cancel button on the WI device or the mobile terminal.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the first execution screen is an initial execution screen of the prescribed application.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the prescribed application corresponds to a music playing function.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the first execution screen having the first execution depth corresponds to displaying a list of music items to be played on the IVI device, and

wherein the second execution screen having the second execution depth corresponds to playing a music file corresponding to a selected music item and displaying the second execution screen corresponding to the playing music file.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

displaying, via the display of the IVI device, a third execution screen having a third execution depth higher than the second execution depth for the prescribed application.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the third execution screen having the third execution depth corresponds to displaying a playlist.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving another interrupt request when the launcher application is switched to the foreground, said launcher application including an initial launcher screen and a setting screen for customizing the initial launcher screen; and

displaying, via the display, the initial launcher screen in response to the setting screen being displayed when receiving the other interrupt request.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the IVI device communicates with the mobile terminal using MirrorLink.

12. An in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) device, comprising:

a communication unit configured to receive application data from a mobile terminal for executing a prescribed application on the IVI device;

a display configured to display one of a first execution screen having a first execution depth and a second execution screen having a second execution depth higher than the first execution depth for the prescribed application; and

a controller configured to;

receive an interrupt request for requesting the one of the first and second execution screens stopped being displayed,

display the first execution screen having the first execution depth on the display, in response to the second execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request, and

display a list of certified applications certified for the WI device or switch a launcher application to a foreground on the display, in response to the first execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request.

13. The IVI device of claim 12, wherein the first execution screen having the first execution depth corresponds to displaying a list of items to be executed on the IVI device, and

wherein the second execution screen having the second execution depth corresponds to executing an application corresponding to a selected item and displaying the second execution screen corresponding to the executing application.

14. The IVI device of claim 12, wherein the interrupt request is caused by a touch input of either a home button or a cancel button on the IVI device or the mobile terminal.

15. The IVI device of claim 12, wherein the prescribed application corresponds to a music playing function,

wherein the first execution screen having the first execution depth corresponds to displaying a list of music items to be played on the IVI device, and

wherein the second execution screen having the second execution depth corresponds to playing a music file corresponding to a selected music item and displaying the second execution screen corresponding to the playing music file.

16. The IVI device of claim 15, wherein the controller is further configured to display a third execution screen on the display having a third execution depth higher than the second execution depth for the prescribed application, and

wherein the third execution screen having the third execution depth corresponds to displaying a playlist.

17. The IVI device of claim 12, wherein the controller is further configured to:

receive another interrupt request when the launcher application is switched to the foreground, said launcher application including an initial launcher screen and a setting screen for customizing the initial launcher screen, and

display the initial launcher screen on the display, in response to the setting screen being displayed when receiving the other interrupt request.

18. The IVI device of claim 12, wherein the IVI device communicates with the mobile terminal using MirrorLink.

19. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a communication unit configured to transmit application data to an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) device for executing a prescribed application on the IVI device; and

a controller configured to;

control a display of the IVI device to display one of a first execution screen having a first execution depth and a second execution screen having a second execution depth higher than the first execution depth for the prescribed application,

receive an interrupt request for requesting the one of the first and second execution screens stopped being displayed,

control the display of the IVI device to display the first execution screen having the first execution depth on the display, in response to the second execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request, and

control the display of the IVI device to display a list of certified applications certified for the IVI device or switch a launcher application to a foreground on the display, in response to the first execution screen being displayed when receiving the interrupt request.

20. The mobile terminal of claim 19, wherein the first execution screen having the first execution depth corresponds to displaying a list of items to be executed on the IVI device, and

wherein the second execution screen having the second execution depth corresponds to executing an application corresponding to a selected item and displaying the second execution screen corresponding to the executing application.
