Abstract

In one aspect, a device includes a processor, a position receiver, and storage bearing instructions. The instructions are executable by the processor to receive from the position receiver data indicating a location of the device. The instructions are also executable to receive a map of a facility, present on the device at least a portion of the map, receive a selection of a destination indicated on the map, and at least in part based on the selection and the data indicating the location of the device, present on the device directions to the destination in the facility.

Claims

1. A device comprising:

a processor;

a position receiver accessible to the processor; and

storage bearing instructions executable by the processor to;

receive, from the position receiver, data indicating a location of the device;

receive a first map of a facility;

present on the device at least a portion of the first map;

receive a selection of a destination indicated on the first map at least in part based on contact of the device with an apparatus; and

at least in part based on the selection and the data indicating the location of the device, present, on the device, directions to the destination in the facility.

5. The device of claim 1, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

present on the device at least one graphical direction to the destination in the facility.

21. The device of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is the display of a kiosk associated with the facility.

22. The device of claim 1, wherein the contact is physical contact of at least a portion of the device with a portion of the apparatus presenting the destination on a second map.

23. The device of claim 1, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

haptically indicate that at least one of the directions has been followed.

24. The device of claim 23, comprising a vibration element accessible to the processor, and wherein the instructions are executable to:

haptically indicate that at least one of the directions has been followed at least in part based on actuation of the vibration element to generate a vibration at the device.

25. The device of claim 1, comprising at least one light source accessible to the processor, and wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

visually indicate that at least one of the directions has been followed at least in part based on actuation of the at least one light source in a particular pattern.

8. A method, comprising:

receiving data indicating a location of a device;

receiving a first map of a facility;

presenting on the device at least a portion of the first map;

receiving a selection of a destination indicated on the first map based on contact of the device with an apparatus; and

at least in part based on the selection and the data indicating the location of the device, presenting, on the device, directions to the destination in the facility.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the first map is received from a kiosk in the facility, and wherein the apparatus is the kiosk.

26. The method of claim 8, wherein the contact is physical contact of at least a portion of the device with the destination as represented on a second map presented at the apparatus.

27. The method of claim 8, comprising

haptically confirming that at least one of the directions has been followed.

28. The method of claim 27, comprising:

haptically confirming that at least one of the directions has been followed at least in part by generating a vibration at the device.

29. The method of claim 8, comprising:

visually confirming that at least one of the directions has been followed at least in part by actuating, in a particular pattern, at least one light source on the device.

11. A device, comprising:

at least one processor;

and

storage accessible to the processor and bearing instructions executable by the processor to;

receive data indicating a location of the device;

receive, from a kiosk that has stored data pertaining to a destination in a building, information comprising directions to the destination in the building; and

at least in part based on the information from the kiosk, present on the device at least one direction to the destination in the building;

wherein the destination is indicated by the device to the kiosk at least in part based on physical contact of the device with an area of a map on the kiosk which represents the destination.

12. The device of claim 11, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

at least in part based on the information from the kiosk, present on the device at least one alpha-numeric direction to the destination in the building.

13. The device of claim 11, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

at least in part based on the information from the kiosk, present on the device at least one graphical direction to the destination in the building.

17. The device of claim 11, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

receive the information from the kiosk responsive to establishing near field communication between the device and the kiosk.

19. The device of claim 11, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

send data indicating the location of the device to the kiosk.

30. The device of claim 11, comprising a code reader accessible to the processor, and wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

responsive to reading a code using the code reader, provide at least one direction to the destination.

31. The device of claim 30, wherein the code reader is a quick response (QR) code reader, and wherein the code is a QR code.
