Abstract

A bed rail organizer device is provided that is supported by the upper surface of a bed rail and acts as a cradle for supporting articles and equipment. The device comprises a first end that comprises one or more cradle pockets adapted for supporting items therein, including personal items or medical equipment. A bed rail strip is disposed opposite of the pockets and along the second end of the device. The bed rail strip comprises an elongated surface having one or more bed rail attachments along the lower surface thereof. Along the upper surface of the bed rail strip are one or more hose clamps, which are adapted to support medical hoses and lines crossing the threshold of the bed. In this manner, the organizer device is suited for supporting medical and personal items from the side rail of the bed.

Claims

1. ) An organizer device for securing to a bed rail, comprising:

an item cradle having a first end, a second end, sides, and a lower surface;

the first end of the item cradle comprising one or more pockets for supporting items therein;

the one or more pockets comprising sidewalls, an open upper, and an interior volume;

the second end of the item cradle comprising a bed rail strip that is adapted to secure against an upper surface of a bed rail;

the bed rail strip having a lower surface, the lower surface having one or more bed rail attachments that are adapted to secure to and substantially clamp around the upper surface of the bed rail;

the bed rail strip further having an upper surface that comprises one or more hose clips each adapted to removably secure a hose or line to the upper surface of the bed rail strip.

2. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the one or more pockets having an upper edge;

the bed rail strip extending from the upper edge of one of the one or more pockets.

3. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the one or more pockets comprising a pair of pockets;

the pair of pockets being aligned adjacently to one another, whereby each of the pair of pockets has an upper edge;

the upper edges of the pair of pockets being disposed in substantially a shared plane.

4. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the one or more pockets and the bed rail strip comprise a formed assembly, whereby the one or more pockets have an upper edge;

the bed rail strip extending from the upper edge of one of the one or more pockets.

5. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the one or more pockets and the bed rail strip comprise a formed assembly, whereby the one or more pockets comprise a pair of pockets;

the pair of pockets is aligned adjacently to one another, and each of the pair of pockets has an upper edge;

the upper edges of the pair of pockets being disposed in substantially a shared plane;

the bed rail strip extending from one of the pair of pockets and in substantial alignment with the shared plane.

6. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the one or more pockets comprising a plurality of adjacent pockets;

each of the adjacent pockets having at least one sidewall adjacent to another sidewall of an adjacent pocket;

each of the sidewalls adjacent to another sidewall being formed together along an upper extent.

7. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the one or more pockets comprising a plurality of adjacent pockets;

each of the adjacent pockets having an end wall adjacent to an end wall of an adjacent pocket;

each of the end walls adjacent to another end wall being formed together along an upper extent.

8. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

each of the one or more pockets having a pair of aligned slots disposed through opposing sidewalls along the sides of the item cradle.

9. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein each of the one or more pockets are connected along the lower surface.

10. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the bed rail attachments along the lower surface of the bed rail strip further comprising a pair of complimentary clip arms adapted to receive the upper surface of the bed rail therebetween.

11. ) The organizer device of claim 1, wherein:

the hose clips along the upper surface of the bed rail strip further comprising a pair of complimentary hose clip arms adapted to receive the hose or line therebetween.
