Abstract

A method is proposed comprising: receiving at least one video and/or audio content distributed to a plurality of individuals; monitoring Social Network data of at least one online Social Network, wherein the monitored Social Network data are directly or indirectly related to the received video and/or audio content; filtering the monitored Social Network data of the at least one online Social Network related to the received video and/or audio content by applying at least one filtering criterion based on a predetermined metric, for identifying at least one part of the received video and/or audio content; extracting from the received video and/or audio content the at least one identified part, and making available to a user the selected at least one part of the video and/or audio content.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving at least one video content and audio content distributed to a plurality of individuals;

monitoring Social Network data of at least one online Social Network, wherein the monitored Social Network data are directly or indirectly related to the received at least one video content and audio content;

filtering the monitored Social Network data of the at least one online Social Network related to the received at least one video and audio content by applying at least one filtering criterion based on a predetermined metric, for identifying at least one part of the received at least one video content and audio content;

extracting from the received at least one video content and audio content said at least one identified part; and

making available to a user the selected at least one part of the at least one video content and audio content.

The method of claim 1, wherein said Social Network data related to the received at least one video content and audio content comprise reactions of persons belonging to said plurality of individuals to the at least one video content and audio content during the distribution thereof, wherein said reactions are posted through the at least one online Social Network.

The method of claim 1, wherein said filtering criterion based on a predetermined metric comprises determining at least one peak in a time trend of a number of reactions of the users of the at least one online Social Network to the at least one video content and audio content during the distribution thereof.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein said filtering and said extracting are performed at the end of the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein said filtering and said extracting are performed during the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content.

6. The method of claim 5, comprising:

subdividing the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content into at least two successive time intervals,

in each time interval performing said monitoring, said filtering and said extracting.

The method of claim 6, further comprising, at the end of the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content, discarding at least one of the extracted identified parts in order to retain a predetermined number of extracted parts of the at least one video content and audio content corresponding to a predetermined number of identified parts based on said predetermined metric.

8. The method of claim 3, wherein said filtering and said extracting are performed during the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content, the method further comprising:

subdividing the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content into at least two successive time intervals,

in each time interval performing said monitoring, said filtering and said extracting, and

at the end of the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content, discarding at least one of the extracted identified parts in order to retain a predetermined number of extracted parts of the at least one video content and audio content corresponding to a predetermined number of identified parts based on said predetermined metric,

wherein said predetermined number of identified parts corresponds to a predetermined number of peaks in the time trend of number of reactions of the users.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein said extracting from the received at least one video content and audio content said at least one identified part comprises extracting at least one of a video clip and audio clip in a time interval around the time of said identified peak.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein said making available comprises creating at least one of an audio clip and a video clip by composing a plurality of said extracted parts of the at least one video content and audio content.

15. A non-transitory computer readable medium having a computer program stored thereon, the computer program adapted to implement the method of claim 1 when executed by a computer system.

11. A system comprising:

an acquisition module for acquiring at least one video content and audio content distributed to a plurality of individuals;

a monitoring module for monitoring Social Network data of at least one online Social Network, wherein the monitored Social Network data are directly or indirectly related to the received at least one video content and audio content;

a control module for;

filtering the monitored Social Network data of the at least one online Social Network related to the received at least one video content and audio content by applying at least one filtering criterion based on a predetermined metric, for identifying at least one part of the received at least one video content and audio content, and

extracting from the received at least one video content and audio content said at least one identified part; and

a repository module for storing the at least one extracted part of the received at least one video content and audio content, and for making available to a user the stored at least one extracted part of the at least one video content and audio content.

The system of claim 11, wherein said Social Network data related to the received video and/or audio content comprise reactions of persons belonging to said plurality of individuals to the at least one video content and and/or audio content during the distribution thereof, wherein said reactions are posted through the at least one online Social Network.

The system of claim 11, wherein said filtering criterion based on a predetermined metric comprises determining at least one peak in a time trend of a number of reactions of the users of the at least one online Social Network to the at least one video content and and/or audio content during the distribution thereof.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein said filtering and said extracting are performed either at the end of the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content, or during the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content, particularly by:

subdividing the distribution time of the at least one video content and audio content into at least two successive time intervals, and in each time interval performing said monitoring, said filtering and said extracting.
