Abstract

A front plate for a lighting device includes a translucent substrate having a first surface, a high refractive index layer formed on the first surface of the translucent substrate and having a refractive index higher than a refractive index of the translucent substrate, and an electrically conductive light reflection layer formed on a surface of the high refractive index layer on an opposite side of the translucent substrate. The electrically conductive light reflection layer is formed on a portion corresponding to a non-luminous region around a luminous region on the surface of the high refractive index layer.

Claims

1. A front plate for a lighting device, comprising:

a translucent substrate having a first surface;

a high refractive index layer formed on the first surface of the translucent substrate and having a refractive index higher than a refractive index of the translucent substrate; and

an electrically conductive light reflection layer formed on a surface of the high refractive index layer on an opposite side of the translucent substrate,

wherein the electrically conductive light reflection layer is formed on a portion corresponding to a non-luminous region around a luminous region on the surface of the high refractive index layer.

2. The front plate of claim 1, further comprising:

a scattering structure formed in a portion corresponding to the non-luminous region.

3. A lighting device, comprising:

the front plate of claim 1;

a transparent anode formed on the high refractive index layer on an opposite side of the translucent substrate;

a light emitting element formed on the transparent anode on an opposite side of the electrically conductive light reflection layer; and

a cathode formed on the light emitting element on an opposite side of the transparent anode.

4. A lighting device, comprising:

the front plate of claim 2;

a transparent anode formed on the high refractive index layer on an opposite side of the translucent substrate;

a light emitting element formed on the transparent anode on an opposite side of the electrically conductive light reflection layer; and

a cathode formed on the light emitting element on an opposite side of the transparent anode.

5. The lighting device of claim 3, wherein the light emitting element is in contact with the transparent anode in the luminous region, and

the high refractive index layer has a refractive index of 1.5 or more and is formed such that in the luminous region light emitted from the light emitting element is totally reflected at an interface between the high refractive index layer and the translucent substrate.

6. The lighting device of claim 3, wherein the light emitting element is formed such that the luminous region satisfies:

where B is a thickness from the light emitting element to the translucent substrate, and A is a diameter of the luminous region.

7. The lighting device of claim 3, further comprising:

an insulating layer formed between the transparent anode and the light emitting element in the non-luminous region.

8. The lighting device of claim 4, wherein the scattering structure comprises a high refraction scattering layer formed between the high refractive index layer and the transparent anode.

9. The lighting device of claim 8, wherein the high refraction scattering layer includes a plurality of fine particles having light scattering property.

10. The lighting device of claim 4, wherein the scattering structure comprises a micro-concavo-convex structure formed on a surface of the high refractive index layer in contact with the translucent substrate.

11. The lighting device of claim 4, wherein the scattering structure comprises a micro-concavo-convex structure formed on a surface of the translucent substrate on an opposite side of the high refractive index layer.

12. A front plate for a lighting device, comprising:

a translucent substrate having a first surface;

a high refractive index layer formed on the first surface of the translucent substrate; and

an electrically conductive light reflection layer formed on a portion of a back surface of the high refractive index layer on an opposite side of the translucent substrate.

13. The front plate of claim 12, wherein the high refractive index layer includes a plurality of fine particles having light scattering property.

14. The front plate of claim 12, wherein the translucent substrate has a micro-concavo-convex structure on a second surface opposite to the first surface.

15. The front plate of claim 12, wherein the high refractive index layer has a refractive index of 1.5 or more.

16. The front plate of claim 12, wherein the translucent substrate includes a plurality of fine particles having light scattering property.

17. A lighting device, comprising:

the front plate of claim 12;

a transparent anode formed on a portion of the back surface of the high refractive index layer where the electrically conductive light reflection layer is not formed, the transparent anode being formed on the electrically conductive light reflection layer on an opposite side of the high refractive index layer;

a light emitting element formed on the transparent anode on an opposite side of the electrically conductive light reflection layer; and

a cathode formed on the light emitting element on an opposite side of the transparent anode.

18. The lighting device of claim 17, further comprising:

an electrically insulating layer formed between the transparent anode and the light emitting element such that the electrically insulating layer overlaps with the electrically conductive light reflection layer in a thickness direction of the translucent substrate.

19. A lighting device, comprising:

the front plate of claim 12;

a transparent cathode formed on a portion of the back surface of the high refractive index layer where the electrically conductive light reflection layer is not laminated, the transparent cathode being formed on the electrically conductive light reflection layer on an opposite side of the high refractive index layer;

a light emitting element formed on the transparent cathode on an opposite side of the electrically conductive light reflection layer; and

an anode formed on the light emitting element on an opposite side of the transparent cathode.

20. A front plate for a lighting device, comprising:

a translucent substrate;

a high refractive index layer formed on a first surface of the translucent substrate;

a transparent anode formed on the high refractive index layer on an opposite side of the translucent substrate; and

an electrically conductive light reflection layer formed on a portion of a back surface of the transparent anode on an opposite side of the high refractive index layer.

21. The front plate of claim 20, wherein the high refractive index layer includes a plurality of fine particles having light scattering property.

22. The front plate of claim 20, wherein the translucent substrate has a micro-concavo-convex structure on a second surface opposite to the first surface.

23. The front plate of claim 20, wherein the high refractive index layer has a refractive index of 1.5 or more.

24. The front plate of claim 20, wherein the translucent substrate includes a plurality of fine particles having light scattering property.

25. A lighting device, comprising:

the front plate of claim 20;

a light emitting element formed on a portion of the back surface of the transparent anode where the electrically conductive light reflection layer is not laminated, the light emitting element being formed on the electrically conductive light reflection layer on an opposite side of the transparent anode; and

a cathode formed on the light emitting element on an opposite side of the electrically conductive light reflection layer.

26. The lighting device of claim 25, further comprising:

an electrically insulating layer covering the electrically conductive light reflection layer formed on the transparent anode.
