Abstract

A method of controlling at least one controlled device at an external device outside a network including a control device and the controlled device is provided. The method includes transmitting a message accepting a control request requesting to control the controlled device in a session established with the control device; receiving and displaying an identifier for identifying the controlled device; and selectively controlling the controlled device via the control device based on an input generated using the displayed identifier.

Claims

1. A method of controlling at least one controlled device, the method comprising:

receiving, at a second control device, a request message for requesting to control the controlled device from a first control device;

transmitting, by the second control device, an acceptance message for accepting the received request message to the first control device;

receiving, at the second control device, information to control the controlled device from the first control device, the information including identification information for identifying the controlled device and control information for controlling the controlled device;

displaying the identification information and the control information on the second control device; and

controlling, by the second control device, the controlled device based on the identification information and the control information.

2. A method of claim 1, wherein the identification information comprises an image representing the controlled device.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the control information comprises at least one image to which at least one control command for controlling the controlled device is mapped.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the displaying the identification information and the control information comprises:

displaying the image representing the controlled device;

receiving a user input to select the displayed image; and

displaying the at least one image to which the at least one control command is mapped, in response to receiving the user input;

5. The method of claim 3, wherein the at least one image to which at least one control command forms a control menu for controlling the controlled device.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the control command menu corresponds to a control command menu being currently displayed on a screen of the controlled device.

7. The method of claim 1, the method further comprising receiving the information to control the controlled device from an external server connected to the first control device.

15. At least one non-transitory computer-readable recording medium for storing a computer program configured to be readable by at least one processor for instructing the at least one processor to execute a computer process for performing the method of claim 1.

8. A control device comprising:

a display;

a memory which is configured to store at least one program; and

at least one processor which is configured to execute the at least one program,

wherein the at least one program comprises commands for;

receiving a request message for requesting to control the controlled device from another control device;

transmitting an acceptance message for accepting the received request message to the other control device;

receiving information to control the controlled device from the other control device, the information comprising identification information for identifying the controlled device and control information for controlling the controlled device;

displaying the identification information and the control information on the display; and

controlling the controlled device based on the identification information and the control information.

9. The control device of claim 8, wherein the identification information includes an image representing the controlled device.

10. The control device of claim 9, wherein the control information includes at least one image to which at least one control command for controlling the controlled device is mapped.

11. The control device of claim 10, wherein the at least one program further comprises commands for:

displaying the image representing the controlled device;

receiving a user input to select the displayed image; and

displaying the at least one image to which the at least one control command is mapped, in response to receiving the user input.

12. The control device of claim 10, wherein the at least one image to which at least one control command forms a control menu for controlling the controlled device.

13. The control device of claim 12, wherein the control command menu corresponds to a control command menu being currently displayed on a screen of the controlled device.

14. The control device of claim 8, wherein the at least one program further comprises commands for receiving the information to control the controlled device from an external server connected to the other control device.
