Abstract

A near field communication (hereinafter, referred to as “NFC”) antenna matching network system connected to an NFC transceiver is provided. The NFC antenna matching network system includes a matching circuit connected to first and second antenna terminals and to the NFC transceiver; and a plurality of NFC antennas connected in parallel and physically with the first and second antenna terminals, wherein each of the NFC antennas comprises a source coil connected between the first antenna terminal and the second antenna terminal; and a resonance coil physically separated from the source coil.

Claims

1. A near field communication (NFC) antenna connected to an NFC transceiver, the NFC antenna comprising:

a source coil connected between first and second terminals of the NFC transceiver, the source coil including one or more winding turns;

a first resonance coil physically separated from the source coil; and

a second resonance coil physically separated from the source coil, one end of the second resonance coil being connected to one end of the first resonance coil,

wherein the first resonance coil is surrounded by the second resonance coil in a plan view, and

wherein the source coil is between the first resonance coil and the second resonance coil in the plan view.

2. The NFC antenna of claim 1, wherein a distance between an outermost edge of the source coil and an innermost edge of the second resonance coil is within about 0 mm to about 1 mm.

3. The NFC antenna of claim 1, wherein the first and the second resonance coils have inductance of about 4 μ

H to about 9 μ

H, respectively.

4. The NFC antenna of claim 2, wherein the first and the second resonance coils are within an area of about 20 cm² to about 54 cm², respectively.

5. The NFC antenna of claim 3, wherein the first and the second resonance coils have a width of about 0.5 mm to about 1.2 mm, respectively.

6. The NFC antenna of claim 1, further comprising:

a capacitor connected between an other end of the first resonance coil and an other end of the second resonance coil.

7. The NFC antenna of claim 1, wherein an other end of the first resonance coil and an other end of the second resonance coil are electrically connected to each other.

8. The NFC antenna of claim 1, wherein the NFC antenna is on at least one of a front surface, a rear surface, a center, an outside, a flip cover, a battery pack, and the like, of a mobile device.

9. The NFC antenna of claim 1, wherein the source coil is on a surface of a battery of a mobile device, and the first and the second resonance coils are provided in a case, which is adjacent to the battery, of the mobile device.

10. The NFC antenna of claim 1, wherein a cross point by an intersection of a first winding turn of the source coil and a second winding turn of the source coil is formed in the plan view.

11. The NFC antenna of claim 1, wherein the source coil of each of the NFC antennas has one of a single-loop shape and a multi-loop shape, and wherein the first and the second resonance coil have a spiral shape.

12. A near field communication (NFC) antenna connected to an NFC transceiver, the NFC antenna comprising:

a source coil connected between first and second terminals of the NFC transceiver and on a top surface of a film, the source coil including one or more winding turns;

a first resonance coil physically separated from the source coil and on the top surface of the film so as to surround the source coil in a plan view; and

a second resonance coil on a bottom surface of the film,

wherein one end of the first resonance coil and one end of the second resonance coil are electrically connected to each other.

13. The NFC antenna of claim 12, wherein a distance between an outermost edge of the source coil and an innermost edge of the first resonance coil is within about 0 mm to about 1 mm.

14. The NFC antenna of claim 12, wherein the NFC antenna is on at least one of a front surface, a rear surface, a center, an outside, a flip cover, a battery pack, and the like, of a mobile device.

15. The NFC antenna of claim 12, wherein the source coil of each of the NFC antennas has one of a single-loop shape and a multi-loop shape, and wherein the first and the second resonance coil have a spiral shape.

16. A mobile device, comprising:

an application processor,

a near field communication (NFC) transceiver connected to an application processor;

a matching circuit connected to the NFC transceiver; and

a NFC antenna connected to the matching circuit,

wherein the matching circuit is configured to match impedances of the NFC antenna and the NFC transceiver,

wherein the NFC antenna includes;

a source coil connected between first and second terminals of the NFC transceiver, the source coil including one or more winding turns;

a first resonance coil physically separated from the source coil; and

a second resonance coil physically separated from the source coil,

one end of the second resonance coil being connected to one end of the first resonance coil,

wherein the first resonance coil is surrounded by the second resonance coil in plan view, and

wherein the source coil is between the first resonance coil and the second resonance coil in plan view.

17. The mobile device of claim 16, wherein the application processor is configured to execute a program for a mobile point of sale (POS).

18. The mobile device of claim 16, wherein the NFC antenna is on at least one of a front surface, a rear surface, a center, an outside, a flip cover, a battery pack, and the like, of a mobile device.

19. The mobile device of claim 16, wherein the source coil is on a surface of a battery of a mobile device, and the first and the second resonance coils are provided in a case, which is adjacent to the battery, of the mobile device.

20. The mobile device of claim 16, wherein the source coil of each of the NFC antennas has one of a single-loop shape and a multi-loop shape, and wherein the first and the second resonance coil have a spiral shape.
