Abstract
An orthopedic device for implanting between adjacent vertebrae comprising: an arcuate balloon and a hardenable material within said balloon.
In some embodiments, the balloon has a footprint that substantially corresponds to a perimeter of a vertebral endplate. An inflatable device is inserted through a cannula into an intervertebral space and oriented so that, upon expansion, a natural angle between vertebrae will be at least partially restored. At least one component selected from the group consisting of a load-bearing component and an osteobiologic component is directed into the inflatable device through a fluid communication means.

2. A spinal fusion implant comprising:
-
a first component having a first ramped surface, the first ramped surface having a longitudinal groove formed therein; and a second component having a second ramped surface, the second ramped surface having a longitudinal ridge extending therefrom; wherein the longitudinal ridge is slidably received within the longitudinal groove such that the first and second ramped surfaces can slide along one another to progressively increase a height of the spinal fusion implant and thereby distract a disc space in which the spinal fusion implant is disposed. - View Dependent Claims (3, 4, 5)

6. A spinal fusion method, comprising:
-
positioning an implant comprising a first component having a first ramped surface with a longitudinal groove formed therein and a second component having a second ramped surface with a longitudinal ridge extending therefrom in a disc space such that the ridge is slidably received within the groove; and sliding the first ramped surface along the second ramped surface to progressively increase a height of the implant and distract the disc space; wherein the groove and the ridge guide the sliding of the first ramped surface along the second ramped surface. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8)
