a second area, the second area comprising a curved portion extended from the first area;
a sensor configured to obtain information related to a state of the electronic device; and
a processor configured to, in response to an occurrence of an event, control the electronic device to provide information associated with the event only on the second area of the display if the state of the electronic device is a first state, and control the electronic device to provide information associated with the event on the first area and the second area of the display if the state of the electronic device is a second state.
