Abstract

A system for symbolic communication including a communication system, a sender communication device including a processor and a memory, a symbolic communication software module stored in the sender communication device memory, the symbolic communication software module including a database of symbols, with some of the symbols being billable, each billable symbol being associated with a merchant and having a billing rate associated with its use in a message, the symbolic communication software module comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to allow a user to select symbols to compose a message; send the message to a receiver communication device using a communication system; count and record each symbols used in the message in the symbol server, and bill the merchant for the use of the billable symbol in a message, using the billing rate associated with the billable symbol.

Claims

1. A system for symbolic communication comprising:

a communication system;

a sender communication device including a processor and a memory;

a symbolic communication software module stored in the sender communication device memory, the symbolic communication software module including a database of symbols, with some of the symbols being billable, each billable symbol being associated with a merchant and having a billing rate associated with its use in a message, the symbolic communication software module comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to;

allow a user to select symbols to compose a message;

send the message to a receiver communication device using a communication system;

count and record each symbols used in the message in the symbol server, and

bill the merchant for the use of the billable symbol in a message, using the billing rate associated with the billable symbol.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein a user can request a symbol selection from a knowledge base during composition of the message.

3. The system of claim 2 wherein the user can select symbols from a graphical user interface which is part of the symbolic communication software module.

4. The system of claim 3 wherein the graphical user interface is a symbolary selection wheel (or other form of selection process) of symbols which can be selected by the consensus-popular symbols displayed or a selection of their own preference

5. The system of claim 2 wherein symbols are suggested based on the count of each symbol and at least one key word parsed from the message being composed. It is important to note that symbols will represent the context of messages in the best form and according to the user'"'"'s preference of representation of words, phrases or whole messages. Additionally, users can pre-select the methods or protocols to include symbols in their communication.

6. The system of claim 1 wherein the communication system is selected from the group consisting of a cellular phone system, an email program, and an internet enabled TV.

7. The system of claim 4 wherein the wheel symbols displayed are selected from the knowledge base using keywords parsed from the message being composed.

8. The system of claim 1 wherein the message can include sound and/or color as part of the message.

9. A system for symbolic communication comprising:

a symbol server including a server processor, a server memory and a database containing symbols, billable and non-billable symbols, the billable symbols representing products or services, each billable symbol being associated with a merchant and having a billing rate associated with its use;

a sender communication device including a processor and a memory, and including a subset of the symbols obtained from the symbol server; and

a symbolic communication software module stored in the sender communication device memory, comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to;

allow a user to select symbols to compose a message;

send the message to a receiver communication device using a communication system.

10. The system of claim 9 wherein a user can request a symbol selection from a knowledge base during composition of the message.

11. The system of claim 10 wherein the user can select symbols from a graphical user interface which is part of the symbolic communication software module.

12. The system of claim 11 wherein the graphical user interface is a wheel of symbols which can be selected.

13. The system of claim 10 wherein symbols are suggested based on the count of each symbol and at least one key word parsed from the message being composed.

14. The system of claim 9 wherein the communication system is selected from the group consisting of a cellular phone system, an email program, and an internet enabled TV.

15. The system of claim 12 wherein the wheel symbols displayed are selected from the knowledge base using keywords parsed from the message being composed.

16. The system of claim 9 wherein the message can include sound and/or color as part of the message.

17. A system for symbolic communication comprising:

a symbol server including a server processor, a server memory and a database containing symbols, billable and non-billable symbols, the billable symbols representing products or services, each billable symbol being associated with a merchant and having a billing rate associated with its use;

a sender communication device including a processor and a memory, and including a subset of the symbols obtained from the symbol server; and

a symbolic communication software module stored in the sender communication device memory, comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to;

allow a user to select symbols to compose a message using a communication system;

send the message to a receiver communication device;

count and record each symbols used in the message in the symbol server, and

bill the merchant for the use of the billable symbol in a message, using the billing rate associated with the billable symbol.

18. The system for symbolic communication of claim 17 wherein the communication device is a mobile smartphone.

21. The system of claim 17 wherein a user can request a symbol selection from a knowledge base during composition of the message.

22. The system of claim 21 wherein the user can select symbols from a graphical user interface which is part of the symbolic communication software module.

23. The system of claim 22 wherein the graphical user interface is a wheel of symbols which can be selected.

24. The system of claim 21 wherein symbols are suggested based on the count of each symbol and at least one key word parsed from the message being composed.

25. The system of claim 17 wherein the communication system is selected from the group consisting of a cellular phone system, an email program, and an internet enabled TV.

26. The system of claim 23 wherein the wheel symbols displayed are selected from the knowledge base using keywords parsed from the message being composed.

27. The system of claim 17 wherein the message can include sound and/or color as part of the message.

19. The system for symbolic communication of claim 28 wherein a coupon associated with the billable symbol is sent to the sender mobile device, the receiver mobile device or both.
