Abstract

A data storage device may include a plurality of nonvolatile memory devices including a plurality of blocks and a controller suitable for generating super block parity data for a super block, which is formed of one or more of the plurality of blocks.

Claims

1. A data storage device comprising:

a plurality of nonvolatile memory devices including a plurality of blocks; and

a controller suitable for generating super block parity data for a super block, which is formed of one or more of the plurality of blocks.

2. The data storage device according to claim 1,

wherein the controller classifies a plurality of data chunks to be stored in the super block into a plurality of data groups, and generates the super block parity data for each of the plurality of data groups, and

wherein each of the plurality of data chunks is classified into any one of the plurality of data groups according to an attribute of a target region in which a corresponding data chunk is to be stored, in the super block.

3. The data storage device according to claim 2, wherein the attribute includes one or more among a plane offset, a word line offset, a page offset and a page type corresponding to the target region.

The data storage device according to claim 2, wherein the controller corrects an error bit of one of the data chunks classified as a first one of the plurality of data groups based on the other data chunks classified as the first data group and one of the super block parity data for the first data group.

5. A data storage device comprising:

a plurality of nonvolatile memory devices including a plurality of blocks; and

a controller suitable for storing a plurality of data chunks in a super block including blocks of the same block offset among the plurality of blocks, and generating super block parity data for the plurality of data chunks.

The data storage device according to claim 5, wherein the controller classifies the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups according to an attribute of target regions of the super block in which the plurality of data chunks are to be stored, and generates the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

The data storage device according to claim 6, wherein the controller corrects an error bit of one of the data chunks classified as a first one of the plurality of data groups based on the other data chunks classified as the first data group and one of the super block parity data for the first data group.

The data storage device according to claim 5, wherein the controller classifies the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups according to one or more of plane offset and page type corresponding to each of target regions of the super block in which the plurality of data chunks are to be stored, and generates the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

The data storage device according to claim 5, wherein the controller classifies the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups according to one or more of word line offset and page type corresponding to target regions of the super block in which the plurality of data chunks are to be stored, and generates the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

The data storage device according to claim 5, wherein the controller classifies the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups such that data chunks corresponding to one or more of, adjacent word lines in each of the plurality of blocks, the same word line among the plurality of blocks, and the same page type among the plurality of blocks in each of the plurality of nonvolatile memory devices, are classified into different data groups, and generates the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

11. The data storage device according to claim 5,

wherein the super block includes a plurality of stripes, each of which is formed of part of the plurality of blocks having the same page offset, and

wherein the controller generates stripe parity data corresponding to the plurality of stripes.

12. The data storage device according to claim 11, wherein the controller generates the super block parity data by performing a logic operation on the stripe parity data.

13. A method for operating a data storage device including a plurality of nonvolatile memory devices, the method comprising:

storing a plurality of data chunks in a super block including blocks of the same block offset among a plurality of blocks included in the plurality of nonvolatile memory devices; and

generating super block parity data for the plurality of data chunks.

14. The method according to claim 13, further comprising:

classifying the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups, according to an attribute of target regions of the super block in which the plurality of data chunks are to be stored; and

generating the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

15. The method according to claim 14, further comprising correcting an error bit of one of the data chunks classified as a first one of the plurality of data groups based on the other data chunks classified as the first data group and one of the super block parity data for the first data group.

16. The method according to claim 13, further comprising:

classifying the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups according to one or more of plane offset and page type corresponding to each of target regions of the super block in which the plurality of data chunks are to be stored; and

generating the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

17. The method according to claim 13, further comprising:

classifying the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups according to one or more of word line offset and page type corresponding to each of target regions of the super block in which the plurality of data chunks are to be stored; and

generating the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

18. The method according to claim 13, further comprising:

classifying the plurality of data chunks into a plurality of data groups such that data chunks corresponding to one or more of, adjacent word lines in each of the plurality of blocks, the same word line among the plurality of blocks, and the same page type among the plurality of blocks in each of the plurality of nonvolatile memory devices, are classified into different data groups; and

generating the super block parity data for the plurality of respective data groups.

19. The method according to claim 13, further comprising:

generating stripe parity data corresponding to a plurality of stripes, each of which is formed of part of the plurality of blocks having the same page offset.

20. The method according to claim 19, further comprising:

generating the super block parity data by performing a logic operation on the stripe parity data.
