Abstract

Provided is a novel display panel which is highly convenient or reliable or a driving method thereof. The display panel includes a first display element, a first conductive film electrically connected to the first display element, a second conductive film having a region overlapping with the first conductive film, an insulating film having a region sandwiched between the second conductive film and the first conductive film, a pixel circuit electrically connected to the second conductive film, and a second display element electrically connected to the pixel circuit. The insulating film has an opening. The second conductive film is electrically connected to the first conductive film in the opening.

Claims

1. A display panel comprising:

a signal line; and

a pixel, the pixel electrically connected to the signal line,

wherein the pixel comprises a first display element, a first conductive film, a second conductive film, an insulating film, a pixel circuit, and a second display element,

wherein the first conductive film is electrically connected to the first display element,

wherein the second conductive film has a region overlapping with the first conductive film,

wherein the insulating film has a region sandwiched between the second conductive film and the first conductive film,

wherein the insulating film comprises an opening,

wherein the second conductive film is electrically connected to the first conductive film in the opening,

wherein the pixel circuit is electrically connected to the second conductive film,

wherein the pixel circuit is electrically connected to the signal line, and

wherein the second display element is electrically connected to the pixel circuit.

2. The display panel according to claim 1,

wherein the pixel circuit comprises a switch,

wherein the switch comprises a transistor, and

wherein the transistor comprises an oxide semiconductor.

3. The display panel according to claim 1, wherein the second display element has a viewing angle overlapping with part of a viewing angle of the first display element.

4. The display panel according to claim 1, wherein the second display element is configured to display an image in a first region surrounded by a second region in which the first display element displays an image.

5. The display panel according to claim 1,

wherein the first display element comprises a reflective film and is configured to control an intensity of reflected light,

wherein the reflective film comprises an opening and is configured to reflect incident light, and

wherein the second display element is configured to emit light toward the opening.

6. The display panel according to claim 1, further comprising:

a first group of pixels;

a second group of pixels; and

a scan line,

wherein the first group of pixels comprise the pixel,

wherein the first group of pixels are arranged in a row direction,

wherein the second group of pixels comprise the pixel,

wherein the second group of pixels are arranged in a column direction intersecting with the row direction,

wherein the first group of pixels arranged in the row direction are electrically connected to the scan line,

wherein the second group of pixels arranged in the column direction are electrically connected to the signal line, and

wherein an opening of one pixel adjacent to the other pixel in the row direction or the column direction is provided in a position different from an opening of the other pixel.

7. An information processing device comprising:

an input/output device; and

an arithmetic device,

wherein the input/output device is configured to supply positional information and pressure information and to receive image information and control information,

wherein the arithmetic device is configured to receive the positional information and the pressure information and to supply the image information and the control information,

wherein the arithmetic device is configured to generate the image information and the control information in accordance with the pressure information,

wherein the input/output device comprises a display portion that displays the image information, an input portion that supplies the positional information, and a sensor portion that supplies the pressure information,

wherein the display portion comprises the display panel described in claim 1, and

wherein the sensor portion comprises a pressure sensitive sensor and is configured to generate the pressure information in accordance with the pressure sensitive sensor.

8. The information processing device according to claim 7,

wherein the arithmetic device comprises an arithmetic portion and a memory portion,

wherein the memory portion is configured to store a program to be executed by the arithmetic portion,

wherein the program comprises a step of selecting a first mode when the pressure information exceeding a predetermined threshold is supplied and a step of selecting a second mode when the pressure information exceeding the predetermined threshold is supplied no more than a predetermined period, and

wherein the arithmetic portion is configured to supply a control signal in the second mode which is different from a control signal supplied in the first mode.

9. The information processing device according to claim 8,

wherein the control signal comprises a signal for refreshing display of the display panel, and

wherein the arithmetic device is configured to supply the control signal in the second mode so that a frequency of refreshing the display of the display panel is lower than that in the first mode.

10. A driving method of a display panel comprising first to third steps,

wherein the display panel comprises a first pixel, a second pixel, a third pixel, a third of a first scan line, a first of a second scan line, a first signal line, and a second signal line,

wherein the second pixel is adjacent to the first pixel,

wherein the second pixel is provided between the third pixel and the first pixel,

wherein the third of the first scan line is electrically connected to the third pixel,

wherein the first of the second scan line is electrically connected to the first pixel,

wherein the first signal line is electrically connected to the first pixel and the third pixel,

wherein the second signal line is electrically connected to the first pixel and the third pixel,

wherein the first pixel comprises a first of a second display element,

wherein the third pixel comprises a third of a first display element,

wherein in the first step, a potential for turning on a transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the third of the first scan line is supplied to the third of the first scan line, and a potential for turning on a transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the first of the second scan line is supplied to the first of the second scan line,

wherein in the second step, a first image signal for displaying an image in the third of the first display element and a second image signal for displaying an image in the first of the second display element are supplied to the first signal line and the second signal line, respectively, and

wherein in the third step, a potential for turning off the transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the third of the first scan line is supplied to the third of the first scan line, and a potential for turning off the transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the first of the second scan line is supplied to the first second scan line.

11. A driving method of a display panel comprising first to fourth steps,

wherein the display panel comprises a first pixel, a second pixel, a third pixel, a second of a first scan line, a first of a second scan line, a second of the second scan line, a third of the second scan line, a first signal line, a second signal line, a first of the first scan line, and a third of the first scan line,

wherein the second pixel is adjacent to the first pixel,

wherein the second pixel is provided between the third pixel and the first pixel,

wherein the first of the first scan line is electrically connected to the first pixel,

wherein the second of the first scan line is electrically connected to the second pixel,

wherein the third of the first scan line is electrically connected to the third pixel,

wherein the first of the second scan line is electrically connected to the first pixel,

wherein the second of the second scan line is electrically connected to the second pixel,

wherein the third of the second scan line is electrically connected to the third pixel,

wherein the first pixel comprises a first of a second display element,

wherein the second pixel comprises a second of a first display element,

wherein in the first step, a potential for turning on a transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the first of the second scan line is supplied to the first of the second scan line, a potential for turning on a transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the second of the second scan line is supplied to the second of the second scan line, and a potential for turning on a transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the third of the second scan line is supplied to the third of the second scan line,

wherein in the second step, a first image signal for displaying an image in the second of the first display element and a second image signal for displaying an image in the first of the second display element are supplied to the first signal line and the second signal line, respectively,

wherein in the third step, a potential for turning off a transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the second of the first scan line is supplied to the second of the first scan line, and

wherein in the fourth step, a potential for turning off the transistor whose gate electrode is electrically connected to the first of the second scan line is supplied to the first of the second scan line.
