1. A method for redundantly storing product data for an electronic component on an external device, the method comprising:
- determining that product data stored in a primary storage device is corrupted;
determining whether the product data is available on the external device that is in communication with the electronic component;
based on a determination that the product data stored in the primary storage device is corrupted and that the product data is available on the external device, obtaining product data from the external device to continue operation of the electronic component.
