Abstract

Aspects of the present invention include a device comprising a first sensor and a circuitry configured to detect a first user action and a second user action, the second user action being detected by the first sensor. The circuitry is further configured to designate a first mode based on the first user action and a second mode based on the second user action, the first mode and the second mode being power saving modes and the second mode is configured to save power consumed by the first sensor.

Claims

1. A device, comprising:

a first sensor; and

a circuitry configured to;

detect a first user action and a second user action, wherein the second user action is detected by the first sensor; and

designate a first mode based on the first user action and a second mode based on the second user action, wherein the first mode and the second mode are power saving modes, and the second mode is configured to save power consumed by the first sensor.

2. The device according to claim 1, wherein the circuitry is further configured to:

detect a third user action by the first sensor; and

designate a third mode based on the third user action, wherein the third mode is an active mode.

3. The device according to claim 2, wherein the third user action is based on a contact of a user detected by the first sensor.

4. The device according to claim 1, wherein the second mode is designated in an event a threshold time has elapsed from the detection of second user action.

5. The device according to claim 1, wherein the first user action is detected by a second sensor different from the first sensor.

6. The device according to claim 1, wherein the first sensor is a touch sensor.

7. The device according to claim 6, wherein the touch sensor includes capacitance type touch sensor or a resistive film-type touch sensor.

8. The device according to claim 5, wherein the second sensor is a motion sensor.

9. The device according to claim 5, wherein the second sensor is an acceleration sensor and includes piezoelectric-type sensor, piezo resistance-type sensor or a capacitance-type sensor.

10. The device according to claim 2, wherein in an event the first user action is detected in the third mode, the third mode is switched to the first mode.

11. The device according to claim 1, wherein the first user action is to cause the device to be set down on a surface.

12. The device according to claim 3, wherein the second user action is to release a touch input detected by the first sensor.

13. A method, comprising:

in a device;

detecting a first user action and a second user action, wherein the second user action is detected by a first sensor, and

designating a first mode based on the first user action and a second mode based on the second user action, wherein the first mode and the second mode are power saving modes, and the second mode is configured to save power consumed by the first sensor.

14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the first user action is detected by a second sensor different from the first sensor.

15. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon, a set of computer-executable instructions, for causing a computer to execute operations comprising:

detecting a first user action and a second user action, wherein the second user action is detected by a first sensor, and

designating a first mode based on the first user action and a second mode based on the second user action, wherein the first mode and the second mode are power saving modes, and the second mode is configured to save power consumed by the first sensor.

16. The non-transitory computer readable medium according to claim 15, wherein the first user action is detected by a second sensor different from the first sensor.
