Abstract

Apparatuses and methods for transmitting and receiving data are disclosed, where an apparatus for transmitting data includes a calculator configured to calculate a difference value between a reference value and a measurement data of a battery, and a transmitter configured to transmit an initial value and the difference value.

Claims

1. An apparatus for transmitting data, the apparatus comprising:

a processor configured to;

calculate a difference value between a reference value and a measurement data of a battery; and

transmit an initial value and the difference value.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the processor comprises:

a calculator configured to calculate the difference value between the reference value and the measurement data of the battery; and

a transmitter configured to transmit the initial value and the difference value.

3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the measurement data is continuous data that changes over time.

4. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the measurement data is any one or any combination of voltage data, current data, and temperature data.

5. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the reference value is the initial value or a previous measurement data.

6. The apparatus of claim 2, further comprising:

an updater configured to update the initial value based on a criterion.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the updater is further configured to update the initial value to a present value of the measurement data according to an update interval.

8. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the updater is further configured to update the initial value to the present value of the measurement data, in response to the difference value exceeding a threshold range.

9. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the threshold range is expressible using one byte.

10. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the transmitter is further configured to transmit the initial value and the difference value over a controller area network (CAN).

11. A method of transmitting data, the method comprising:

calculating a difference value between a reference value and a measurement data of a battery; and

transmitting an initial value and the difference value.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the measurement data is continuous data that changes over time.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the measurement data is any one or any combination of voltage data, current data, and temperature data.

14. The method of claim 11, wherein the reference value is the initial value or a previous measurement data.

15. The method of claim 11, further comprising:

updating the initial value based on a criterion.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the updating of the initial value comprises updating the initial value to a present value of the measurement data according to an update interval.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein the updating of the initial value comprises:

updating the initial value to the present value of the measurement data, in response to the calculated difference value exceeding a threshold range.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the threshold range is expressible using one byte.

19. The method of claim 11, wherein the transmitting of the initial value and the difference value is performed over a controller area network (CAN).

20. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform the method of claim 13.
