Abstract

A communication apparatus includes first communication means having a first communication function for wirelessly communicating with a partner apparatus, and second communication means having an electric power supply function for wirelessly supplying electric power to the partner apparatus and a second communication function for wirelessly communicating with the partner apparatus. The second communication function is for transmitting specific data sequence to the partner apparatus in response to reception of specific data from the partner apparatus, and the electric power supply function is for supplying electric power to the partner apparatus in a case of receiving from the partner apparatus, with the first communication means, a signal indicating that the partner apparatus has received the data sequence.

Claims

1. A communication apparatus comprising:

a power transmission unit configured to wirelessly transmit power to another communication apparatus; and

a determination unit configured to determine, based on a detection result of a load change performed by the other communication apparatus in response to the other communication apparatus receiving first power transmitted by the power transmission unit, whether to wirelessly transmit, to the other communication apparatus, second power higher than the first power,

wherein the power transmission unit transmits the second power wirelessly to the other communication apparatus in accordance with a result of the determination by the determination unit.

The communication apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the determination unit determines to transmit the second power in a case where the load change performed by the other communication apparatus is detected, and determines not to transmit the second power in a case where the load change performed by the other communication apparatus is not detected.

3. The communication apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a communication unit configured to transmit a predetermined signal to the other communication apparatus and receive from the other communication apparatus a response to the predetermined signal,

wherein the power transmission unit is configured to transmit the first power in response to receiving the response from the other communication apparatus.

4. The communication apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a detection unit configured to detect the load change having a predetermined pattern performed by the other communication apparatus,

wherein the determination unit is configured to determine whether to transmit the second power based on a detection result of the load change having the predetermined pattern.

5. The communication apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the predetermined pattern is a pattern based on a unique word shared by the communication apparatus and the other communication apparatus.

6. A communication apparatus comprising:

a power reception unit configured to receive power which is transmitted wirelessly from another communication apparatus; and

a performing unit configured to perform load changing of the communication apparatus in response to receiving first power transmitted by the other communication apparatus,

wherein the power reception unit receives the second power transmitted in response to the load change of the communication apparatus being detected by the other communication apparatus.

7. The communication apparatus according to claim 6, further comprising a communication unit configured to receive a predetermined signal from the other communication apparatus and transmit to the other communication apparatus a response to the predetermined signal,

wherein the power reception unit is configured to receive the first power transmitted in response to the response being received by the other communication apparatus.

8. A control method of a communication apparatus that includes a power transmission unit configured to wirelessly transmit power to another communication apparatus, the method comprising:

determining, based on a detection result of a load change performed by the other communication apparatus in response to the other communication apparatus receiving first power transmitted by the power transmission unit, whether to wirelessly transmit, to the other communication apparatus, second power higher than the first power; and

causing the power transmission unit to transmit the second power wirelessly to the other communication apparatus in accordance with a result of the determination.

The method according to claim 8, wherein it is determined to transmit the second power in a case where the load change performed by the other communication apparatus is detected, and it is determined not to transmit the second power in a case where the load change performed by the other communication apparatus is not detected.

10. The method according to claim 8, further comprising:

transmitting a predetermined signal to the other communication apparatus;

receiving from the other communication apparatus a response to the predetermined signal; and

causing the power transmission unit to transmit the first power in response to receiving the response from the other communication apparatus.

11. The method according to claim 8, further comprising:

detecting the load change having a predetermined pattern performed by the other communication apparatus,

wherein it is determined whether to transmit the second power based on a detection result of the load change having the predetermined pattern.

12. A control method of a communication apparatus that includes a power reception unit configured to receive power which is transmitted wirelessly from another communication apparatus, the method comprising:

performing load changing of the communication apparatus in response to receiving first power transmitted by the other communication apparatus,

wherein the power reception unit receives the second power transmitted in response to the load change of the communication apparatus being detected by the other communication apparatus.

13. The method according to claim 12, further comprising:

receiving a predetermined signal from the other communication apparatus; and

transmitting to the other communication apparatus a response to the predetermined signal,

wherein the power reception unit receives the first power transmitted in response to the response being received by the other communication apparatus.

14. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a computer program for causing a computer provided in a communication apparatus, which includes a power transmission unit configured to wirelessly transmit power to another communication apparatus, to:

determine, based on a detection result of a load change performed by the other communication apparatus in response to the other communication apparatus receiving first power transmitted by the power transmission unit, whether to wirelessly transmit, to the other communication apparatus, second power higher than the first power; and

cause the power transmission unit to transmit the second power wirelessly to the other communication apparatus in accordance with a result of the determination.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a computer program for causing a computer provided in a communication apparatus, which includes a power reception unit configured to receive power which is transmitted wirelessly from another communication apparatus, to:

perform load changing of the communication apparatus in response to receiving first power transmitted by the other communication apparatus,

wherein the power reception unit receives the second power transmitted in response to the load change of the communication apparatus being detected by the other communication apparatus.
