Abstract

A drop in visibility of display information is prevented while securing a clear view outside a vehicle. A display information extracting unit is configured to extract a particular portion from display information, which is displayed on a transparent display provided in a vehicle, based on a color-by-color pixel count of the display information. A display information output unit is configured to output to the transparent display the display information in which the particular portion extracted by the display information extracting unit has been changed in luminance.

Claims

1. A display control device, comprising:

a display information extracting unit configured to extract a particular portion from display information, which is displayed on a transparent display provided in a vehicle, based on a color-by-color pixel count of the display information; and

a display information output unit configured to output to the transparent display the display information in which the particular portion extracted by the display information extracting unit has been changed in luminance.

2. A display control device according to claim 1, wherein the display information extracting unit is configured to count a number of pixels of the display information for each color separately, and to extract, as the particular portion, a portion in a color that has a highest pixel count.

3. A display control device according to claim 1, further comprising a display information processing unit configured to change the luminance of the particular portion, which is extracted by the display information extracting unit.

4. A display control device according to claim 3, wherein the display information processing unit is configured to lower the luminance of the particular portion when a luminance of a color of the display information that has a highest pixel count is higher than a given threshold.

A display control device according to claim 3, wherein the display information processing unit is configured to raise luminances of other colors of the display information than the color that has a highest pixel count when an average luminance value of the other colors than the color that has the highest pixel count is lower than a given threshold.

6. A display control device according to claim 3, wherein the display information processing unit is configured to hold back from changing a luminance of a given color of the particular portion when the display information is a specific type of information.

7. A display control device according to claim 6, wherein the specific type of information comprises information that warns a user or that calls a user'"'"'s attention.

8. A display control device according to claim 1, further comprising:

a layer management storage unit configured to store display'"'"'s information about a display, to which the display information is output, layer information that indicates layers of the display information to be output to the display, and color conversion regulation information that lays down a color conversion regulation for each of the layers, in association with one another; and

a display information compositing unit configured to convert colors of the layers by referring to the color conversion regulation information of the layer management storage unit, and to composite the layers of the display information to be output to the display, by referring to the layer information of the layer management storage unit.

9. A display control device according to claim 8, wherein the display information extracting unit is configured to extract the particular portion of the display information as a background layer when no background layer is included in the display information output from a navigation device.

10. A display control method for a display control device, comprising:

a display information extracting step of extracting a particular portion from display information, which is displayed on a transparent display provided in a vehicle, based on a color-by-color pixel count of the display information; and

a display information output step of outputting to the transparent display the display information in which the particular portion extracted in the display information extracting step has been changed in luminance.

11. A display control device, comprising:

a layer management storage unit configured to store display'"'"'s information about a display to which display information is output, layer information that indicates layers of the display information to be output to the display, and color conversion regulation information that lays down a color conversion regulation for each of the layers, in association with one another; and

a display information compositing unit configured to convert colors of the layers by referring to the color conversion regulation information of the layer management storage unit, and to composite the layers of the display information to be output to the display, by referring to the layer information of the layer management storage unit.
