Abstract

Technologies are generally described for matching sponsored game content to location by genre and playability. In some examples, a search system for finding real-environment matched gaming content for a user based at least partially on analyzed properties of potential locations may employ game script/flow information and match against local features from map data to screen content for which a game plot can be executed across appropriate areas and transitions or other physical requirements. Additionally, a broker server system may enable businesses to advertise or sponsor a game in order to get the game set up in their location. A keyword auction or similar process may be used during keyword related game organization that is also within specific geographic locations such that the game is set up with the auction winner'"'"'s location as a plot related-location.

Claims

1. A method to provide game content the method comprising:

receiving a match term and a negative term wherein the match term specifies at least one of first locations and first ambience for a particular game and the negative term specifies at least one of second locations and second ambience for the particular game;

receiving location information associated with a user, wherein the location information includes at least planned location information obtained from at least one of a scheduler service and a presence service through a wireless or a wired network communicatively coupled to a user device;

comparing a plurality of game content items with the match term, the negative term, and the location information;

selecting a game content item, of the plurality of game content items, based on the comparison; and

providing the selected game content item to the user.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein selecting the game content item based on the comparison comprises:

determining that the game content item matches the location information;

determining that a match between the game content item and the match term meets or exceeds a first threshold; and

in response to the determination that the match between the game content item and the match term meets or exceeds the first threshold, determining that a match between the game content item with the negative term is less than or equal to a second threshold.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first threshold and the second threshold are same.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the first threshold and the second threshold are different.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the first ambiance and the second ambience include at least one of:

lighting levels, weather conditions, and surroundings.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining offer content based on the location information; and

providing the offer content to the user.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein determining the offer content based on the location information comprises:

performing a keyword auction among entities that match with the location information; and

selecting the offer content from one or more entities that win the keyword auction.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein providing the selected game content item comprises providing the selected game content item through a filter system, and wherein the filter system includes one or more of a third party search engine, a content store, and a purchase recommendation engine.

9. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

enabling the one or more entities to deliver a message, to the user, to provide a discount on arrival.

10. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

enabling one or more employees of the one or more entities to adopt roles in a game associated with the game content item.

11. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

employing a user travel related analysis in the selection of the game content item and in the determination of the offer content.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein selecting the game content item comprises selecting the game content item automatically or subject to confirmation from the user.

13. A game content delivery system, comprising:

a game content server, comprising;

a first memory; and

one or more processors coupled to the first memory, the one or more processors configured to;

obtain a match term and a negative term, wherein the match term specifies at least one of first locations and first ambience for a particular game and the negative term specifies at least one of second locations and second ambience for the particular game;

obtain location information associated with a user, wherein the location information includes at least planned location information obtained from at least one of a scheduling service and a presence service through a wireless or a wired network communicatively coupled to a user device;

compare a plurality of game content items, stored in the first memory, with the match term, the negative term, and the location information;

select a game content item, of the plurality of game content items, based on the comparison; and

provide the selected game content item to the user.

14. The game content delivery system of claim 13, wherein to select the game content item based on the comparison, the one or more processors are configured to:

determine that the game content item matches the location information;

determine that a match between the game content item and the match term meets or exceeds a first threshold; and

in response to the determination that the match of the game content item and the match term meets or exceeds the first threshold, determine that a match between the game content item with the negative term is less than or equal to a second threshold.

15. The game content delivery system of claim 13, further comprising:

an offer content server, comprising;

a second memory; and

one or more other processors coupled to the second memory, the one or more processors of the offer content server being configured to;

obtain the location information associated with the user, wherein the location information is stored in the second memory;

determine offer content based on the location information; and

provide the offer content to the game content server, wherein the game content server is further configured to provide the offer content to the user.

16. The game content delivery system of claim 13, wherein the obtained location information further includes current location information associated with the user obtained through the wireless or the wired network.

17. The game content delivery system of claim 13, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

employ a script-to-location match for a game plot to be matched against local features from map data such that the game plot is executed across specific backgrounds, transitions, and physical requirements.

18. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon to provide game content, wherein the instructions, in response to execution by one or more processor, cause the one or more processors to perform or control performance of operations to:

obtain a match term and a negative term, wherein the match term specifies at least one of first locations and first ambience for a particular game and the negative term specifies at least one of second locations and second ambience for the particular game;

obtain location information associated with a user, wherein the location information includes at least planned location information obtained from at least one of a scheduling service and a presence service through a wireless or a wired network communicatively coupled to a user device;

compare a plurality of game content items with the match term, the negative term, and the location information;

selected a game content item, of the plurality of game content items, based on the comparison; and

provide the selected game content item to the user.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 18, wherein the instructions, in response to execution, cause the one or more processors to perform or control performance of at least one operation to:

determine offer content based on the location information; and

provide the offer content to the user.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 18, wherein the operations to select the game content item further comprises at least one operation to:

determine that the game content item matches the location information;

determine that a match between the game content and the match term meets or exceeds a first threshold; and

in response to the determination that the match between the game content item and the match term meets or exceeds the first threshold, determine that a match between the game content item with the negative term is less than or equal to a second threshold.

21. A computer to provide game content, the computer comprising:

a memory that stores instructions; and

a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor, by execution of the instructions stored in the memory, is configured to execute;

a game content application configured to;

receive a match term and a negative term, wherein the match term specifies at least one of first locations and first ambience for a particular game and the negative term specifies at least one of second locations and second ambience for the particular game;

obtain location information associated with a user, wherein the obtained location information includes at least planned location information obtained from at least one of a scheduling service and presence service through a wireless or a wired network communicatively coupled to a user device;

compare a plurality of game content items with an ambience match function, wherein the ambience match function includes match terms, negative terms, and a match threshold;

select a game content item, of the plurality of game content items, based on the comparison; and

provide the selected game content item and offer content to the user; and

an offer content application configured to;

perform a keyword auction among entities that match with the location information;

select the offer content from one or more entities that win the auction; and

provide the offer content to the game content application.

22. The computer of claim 21, further comprising:

a filter system, wherein the filter system includes one or more of a search engine, a content store, and a purchase recommendation engine, and wherein the game content item and offer content are provided to the user through the filter system.

23. The computer of claim 21, wherein the first ambiance and the second ambience include at least one of lighting levels, weather conditions, and surroundings.

24. The computer of claim 21, wherein the obtained location information further comprises current location information associated with the user obtained through the wireless or the wired network.
