Abstract

An intelligent door lock system provides notification of energy source status. A position sensing device is configured to be coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device. The position sensing device sensing position of the drive shaft assists in locking and unlocking a lock of a lock device. An engine with a memory is provided, with the engine coupled to the positioning sensing device, and a circuit coupled to the engine. An energy source is coupled to the circuit. A server is associated with the intelligent door lock system and provides notification of energy source status.

Claims

1. An intelligent door lock system with notification of energy source status, comprising:

a position sensing device configured to be coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device, the position sensing device sensing position of the drive shaft to assist in locking and unlocking a lock of a lock device, the position sensing device configured to know its current position even if it has been moved since it has been turned off;

an engine with a memory, the engine being coupled to the positioning sensing device;

a circuit coupled to the engine;

an energy source coupled to the circuit; and

wherein a server associated with the intelligent door oc system provides notification of energy source status.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein notification is provided to at least one of a dwelling user, resource owner, or end-user, hereafter (dwelling user).

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the energy source is one or more batteries.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein intelligent door lock system reports its one or more battery voltages to the server.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the server determines battery life.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the server determines when the one or more batteries will die and needs to be changed.

7. The system of claim 5, wherein the dwelling user is notified of the one or more battery status and can be prompted to change the one or more batteries.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein at least one of a mobile device or Bluetooth to WiFi bridge at a dwelling records the one or more battery voltages every time the intelligent door lock system locks or unlocks.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the voltages recorded at the at least one of a mobile device or Bluetooth to WiFi bridge are sent to the server.

10. The system of claim 8, wherein the voltages recorded at the at least one of a mobile device or Bluetooth to WiFi bridge are sent to the server on a period basis.

11. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

using a band pass filter in processing a recorded voltage.

12. A method for providing an energy source status that powers at least a portion of an intelligent door lock system, comprising:

providing an intelligent door lock system that includes a position sensing device configured to be coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device, an engine with a memory the sensor configured to know its current position even if it has been moved since it has been turned off, and an energy source coupled to a circuit; and

using a server associated with the intelligent door lock system to provides notification of energy source status.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein notification is provided to at least one of a dwelling user, resource owner, or end-user, hereafter (dwelling user).

14. The method of claim 13, wherein the energy source is one or more batteries.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein intelligent door lock system reports its one or more battery voltages to the server.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the server determines battery life.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the server determines when the one or more batteries will die and needs to be changed.

18. The method of claim 16, wherein the dwelling user is notified of the one or more battery status and can be prompted to change the one or more batteries.

19. The method of claim 12, wherein at least one of a mobile device or Bluetooth to WiFi bridge at a dwelling records the one or more battery voltages every time the intelligent door lock system locks or unlocks.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein the voltages recorded at the at least one of a mobile device or Bluetooth to WiFi bridge are sent to the server.

21. The method of claim 19, wherein the voltages recorded at the at least one of a mobile device or Bluetooth to WiFi bridge are sent to the server on a period basis.

22. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

using a band pass filter in processing a recorded voltage.
