Abstract

A system for incentivization of communications, comprising an incentivization engine and an auction service, and a method for using such a system for providing incentivization of user communications and user competition for incentives.

Claims

1. A system for incentivization of electronic communications, comprising:

a network-connected server comprising at least a memory and a processor and further comprising programmable instructions stored in the memory and operating on the processor, the instructions adapted to a system for incentivization of electronic communications comprising;

an incentivization engine; and

an auction service;

wherein the incentivization engine associates incentives with an electronic communication further wherein the incentivization engine attaches metadata to the electronic communication describing at least details of the incentive and of the electronic communication;

wherein the metadata is configurable by a recipient; and

wherein the auction service allows users to compete for incentives.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising a database;

wherein the database stores incentive information.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the database stores auction information.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the database stores communication information.

5. A method for incentivization of electronic communications, the method comprising the steps of:

(a) receiving a user registration at a network-connected server comprising at least a memory and a processor and further comprising a plurality of programmable instructions stored in the memory and operating on the processor, the plurality of programmable instructions embodying an application adapted to incentivization of electronic communications;

(b) bundling, using the application, an incentives with an electronic communications;

(c) attaching, using the application, metadata to the electronic communication describing at least details of the incentive and the communication;

(d) sending an incentivized electronic communications to users;

(e) enabling users to edit the metadata; and

(f) delivering incentives to users.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

(a) allowing users, via an auction service resident on the server, to compete for incentives to bundle with communications.
