Abstract

Facsimile reception is prohibited when an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance is set.

Claims

1. An image communication apparatus, comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the image communication apparatus to function as;

a setting unit configured to set an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance; and

a control unit configured to prohibit facsimile reception when the operation mode is set by the setting unit.

8. The image communication apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the operation mode is a mode in which the service person uses a print function, and is a mode for the service person to perform printing and confirm a print result after performing an adjustment of an image to print.

2. An image communication apparatus, comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the image communication apparatus to function as;

a setting unit configured to set an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance; and

a control unit configured to prohibit POP reception of an IFAX when the operation mode is set by the setting unit.

3. An image communication apparatus, comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the image communication apparatus to function as;

a setting unit configured to set an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance;

a memory reception setting unit configured to set a memory reception upon reception of a facsimile when the operation mode is set by the setting unit; and

a control unit configured to control to, when the memory reception is set, store the received facsimile image to a memory, and print the facsimile image stored in the memory when the operation mode is released.

4. An image communication apparatus, comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the image communication apparatus to function as;

a setting unit configured to set an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance;

a registration unit configured to register information of a transmission source of an image;

a determination unit configured to determine whether or not a transmission source of a received image is registered by the registration unit when the operation mode is set by the setting unit; and

a control unit configured to control to, when the determination unit determines that the transmission source of the image is registered by the registration unit, print the received image after superimposing a specific pattern thereon.

5. The image communication apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the one or more processors that execute the instructions further cause the image communication apparatus to function as:

a charging unit configured to charge in accordance with printing,

wherein the control unit controls to not perform charging by the charging unit when printing the received image after superimposing the specific pattern thereon.

6. The image communication apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the one or more processors that execute the instructions further cause the image communication apparatus to function as:

a deletion unit configured to delete the information of the transmission source that is registered by the registration unit when the operation mode set by the setting unit is released.

The image communication apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the control unit further controls to print the received image and also perform charging by the charging unit when the determination unit determines that the transmission source of the image is not registered by the registration unit.

9. A method of controlling an image communication apparatus, the method comprising:

setting an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance; and

prohibiting facsimile reception when the operation mode is set.

10. A method of controlling an image communication apparatus, the method comprising:

setting an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance; and

prohibiting POP reception of an IFAX when the operation mode is set.

11. A method of controlling an image communication apparatus, the method comprising:

setting an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance;

setting memory reception upon reception of a facsimile when the operation mode is set;

controlling to, when the memory reception is set, store the received facsimile image into a memory, and print the facsimile image stored in the memory when the operation mode is released.

12. A method of controlling an image communication apparatus, the method comprising:

setting an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance;

registering information of a transmission source of an image;

determining whether or not a transmission source of a received image is registered when the operation mode is set; and

controlling to, upon determining that the transmission source of the image is registered, print the received image after superimposing a specific pattern thereon.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a processor to execute a method of controlling an image communication apparatus, the method comprising:

setting an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance; and

prohibiting facsimile reception when the operation mode is set.

14. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a processor to execute a method of controlling an image communication apparatus, the method comprising:

setting an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance; and

prohibiting POP reception of an IFAX when the operation mode is set.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a processor to execute a method of controlling an image communication apparatus, the method comprising:

setting an operation mode in which a service person performs printing for the purpose of maintenance;

setting memory reception upon reception of a facsimile when the operation mode is set;

controlling to, when the memory reception is set, store the received facsimile image into a memory, and print the facsimile image stored in the memory when the operation mode is released.
