Abstract

A system, method, and computer program product for displaying representative images is disclosed. In use, a first relationship between each of two or more images is configured. Next, a photo montage is displayed including the two or more images. A notification is received indicating a new orientation for the photo montage. Additionally, in response to the new orientation, an in-place rotation animation is generated for each of the two or more images of the photo montage, and the first relationship is maintained between each of the two or more images. Additional systems, methods, and computer program products are also presented.

Claims

1. A mobile computing device comprising:

a display unit configured to display a user interface;

a non-transitory memory storing instructions; and

one or more processors in communication with the display unit, wherein the one or more processors execute the instructions to;

configure a first relationship between each of two or more images;

cause the display unit to display a photo montage including the two or more images;

receive a notification indicating a new orientation for the photo montage; and

in response to the new orientation;

generate an in-place rotation animation for each of the two or more images of the photo montage; and

maintain the first relationship between each of the two or more images.

2. The mobile computing device of claim 1, wherein the photo montage is displayed within a first subpanel.

3. The mobile computing device of claim 1, wherein each of the two or more images include a form factor.

4. The mobile computing device of claim 3, wherein the form factor includes resizing or cropping each of the two or more images to a specific shape.

5. The mobile computing device of claim 2, wherein a second relationship is generated between the first subpanel and at least one other adjacent subpanel.

6. The mobile computing device of claim 1, wherein at least one of the in-place rotation animations occurs about a geometric center of at least one of the two or more images.

7. The mobile computing device of claim 1, wherein at least one of the in-place rotation animations occurs about a point of interest identified within at least one of the two or more images.

8. The mobile computing device of claim 7, wherein the point of interest includes a focus point of interest, an exposure point of interest, or an identified object point of interest.

9. The mobile computing device of claim 8, wherein the identified object point of interest includes a face.

10. The mobile computing device of claim 8, wherein the point of interest is determined automatically.

11. The mobile computing device of claim 8, wherein the point of interest is determined manually.

12. The mobile computing device of claim 2, wherein a default zoom level is associated with the first subpanel.

13. The mobile computing device of claim 2, wherein the first relationship is maintained after a zoom level is applied to the first subpanel.

14. The mobile computing device of claim 13, wherein the zoom level is reset to a default zoom level after the notification of the new orientation is received.

15. The mobile computing device of claim 13, wherein the zoom level is maintained after the notification of the new orientation is received.

16. The mobile computing device of claim 2, wherein a second subpanel is displayed in response to a swipe motion, the second subpanel including a second photo montage.

17. The mobile computing device of claim 1, wherein the in-place rotation animation occurs independently for each of the two or more images.

18. The mobile computing device of claim 1, wherein each one of the two or more images is displayed at a different predetermined location relative to a physical origin for the display unit during the in-place rotation animation.

19. A computer program product comprising computer executable instructions stored on a non-transitory computer readable medium that when executed by a processor instruct the processor to:

configure a first relationship between each of two or more images;

cause a display unit within a mobile computing device to display a photo montage including the two or more images;

receive a notification indicating a new orientation for the photo montage; and

in response to the new orientation;

generate an in-place rotation animation for each of the two or more images of the photo montage; and

maintain the first relationship between each of the two or more images.

20. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

configuring, using a processor, a first relationship between each of two or more images;

causing a display unit within a mobile computing device to display a photo montage including the two or more images;

receiving a notification indicating a new orientation for the photo montage; and

in response to the new orientation;

generating, using the processor, an in-place rotation animation for each of the two or more images of the photo montage; and

maintaining, using the processor, the first relationship between each of the two or more images.
