1. A method for providing a user interface in an intelligent television, the method comprising:
- providing a first region of the user interface that displays live television content;
receiving a directional input from a remote control at a communications interface;
receiving the selection at a processor of the intelligent television;
based on the direction of the input, providing a second region in the user interface, wherein the user interface includes at least two regions displayed simultaneously;
receiving a second selection in the user interface; and
providing an action, by the processor of the intelligent television, based on a location, within one of the first or second regions, in which the second selection was received.
