Abstract

A system and method for reporting the existence of sensors belonging to multiple organizations that are proximally located to a requested location. The report includes a first list of sensors that are unauthorized and discoverable and a second list of sensors that are authorized.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving a request from a recipient, the request comprising an authorization level, a location and a proximity;

creating a first list of sensors, comprising;

determining a sensor authorization level;

comparing the sensor authorization level to the recipient authorization level; and

adding the sensor to the first list of sensors if the recipient authorization level is below the sensor authorization level;

creating a second list of sensors, comprising;

determining a sensor authorization level;

comparing the sensor authorization level to the recipient authorization level; and

adding the sensor to the second list of sensors if the recipient authorization level is at least the same as the sensor authorization level; and

sending a report to the recipient, wherein the report comprises the first list of sensors and the second list of sensors.

2. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the proximity is one or more of a radial distance or a polygonal shape.

3. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the report further comprises sensor information for said second list of sensors that are authorized.

4. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the sensor information is based on one or more of:

sensor information fetched from cache, the sensor'"'"'s response to a data query for current information, and the sensor'"'"'s response to a data query for historical information.

5. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein data provided for each sensor listed in the first list of sensors and the second list of sensors is comprised of the sensor Organization Name and the sensor Organization Sensor Identifier.

6. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the sensor is one or more of:

air pressure, temperature, humidity, moisture, mechanical pressure, optical, acoustic waves, motion, presence of chemicals or gasses, presence of biological matter, presence of metal, electromagnetic radiation, biometric parameters, visual pattern recognition, nuclear radiation and visual streams.

7. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the sending of the report to the requesting recipient is performed by one or more of:

IP, TCP, UDP, SCTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SIP, XML, CAP, RTP, RTSP, SMTP, SMPP, MM4 and MM7.

8. The method as recited in claim 1, comprising searching a memory for sensors that are proximally located to the requested location.

9. A system, comprising:

a memory comprising instructions; and

a processor in communication with the memory, wherein the processor, when executing the instructions;

receives a request from a recipient, the request comprising an authorization level, a location and a proximity;

creates a first list of sensors, comprising;

determines a sensor authorization level;

compares the sensor authorization level to the recipient authorization level; and

adds the sensor to the first list of sensors if the recipient authorization level is below the sensor authorization level;

creates a second list of sensors, comprising;

determines a sensor authorization level;

compares the sensor authorization level to the recipient authorization level; and

adds the sensor to the second list of sensors if the recipient authorization level is at least the same as the sensor authorization level; and

sends a report to the recipient, wherein the report comprises the first list of sensors and the second list of sensors.

10. The system as recited in claim 9, wherein the proximity is one or more of a radial distance or a polygonal shape.

11. The system as recited in claim 9, wherein the report further comprises sensor information for said second list of sensors that are authorized.

12. The system as recited in claim 11, wherein the sensor information is based on one or more of:

sensor information fetched from cache, the sensor'"'"'s response to a data query for current information, and the sensor'"'"'s response to a data query for historical information.

13. The system as recited in claim 9, wherein data provided for each sensor listed in the first list of sensors and the second list of sensors is comprised of the sensor Organization Name and the sensor Organization Sensor Identifier.

14. The system as recited in claim 9, wherein the sensor is one or more of:

air pressure, temperature, humidity, moisture, mechanical pressure, optical, acoustic waves, motion, presence of chemicals or gasses, presence of biological matter, presence of metal, electromagnetic radiation, biometric parameters, visual pattern recognition, nuclear radiation and visual streams.

15. The system as recited in claim 9, wherein the report being sent to the requesting recipient is performed by one or more of:

IP, TCP, UDP, SCTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SIP, XML, CAP, RTP, RTSP, SMTP, SMPP, MM4 and MM7.

16. The system as recited in claim 9, wherein the processor searches a memory for sensors that are proximally located to the requested location.

17. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when read by a processor, cause the processor to perform:

receiving a request from a recipient, the request comprising an authorization level, a location and a proximity;

creating a first list of sensors, comprising;

determining a sensor authorization level;

comparing the sensor authorization level to the recipient authorization level; and

adding the sensor to the first list of sensors if the recipient authorization level is below the sensor authorization level;

creating a second list of sensors, comprising;

determining a sensor authorization level;

comparing the sensor authorization level to the recipient authorization level; and

adding the sensor to the second list of sensors if the recipient authorization level is at least the same as the sensor authorization level; and

sending a report to the recipient, wherein the report comprises the first list of sensors and the second list of sensors.

18. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 17, wherein the proximity is one or more of a radial distance or a polygonal shape.

19. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 17, wherein the report further comprises sensor information for said second list of sensors that are authorized.

20. The non-transitory computer readable medium as recited in claim 19, wherein the sensor information is based on one or more of:

sensor information fetched from cache, the sensor'"'"'s response to a data query for current information, and the sensor'"'"'s response to a data query for historical information.
