Abstract

Methods and apparatus relating to techniques for avoiding cache lookup for cold cache. In an example, an apparatus comprises logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to collect user information for a user of a data processing device, generate a user profile for the user of the data processing device from the user information, and set a power profile a processor in the data processing device using the user profile. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to;

collect user information for a user of a data processing device;

generate a user profile for the user of the data processing device from the user information; and

set a power profile a processor in the data processing device using the user profile.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

collect at least one of a workload level consumed by the user or a processor power consumption consumed by the user.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

collect at least one of a user'"'"'s approximate age, eyesight level, an list of applications routinely used by the user, or a screen brightness level.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic, at least partially including hardware logic, to:

recall a user profile from memory when a user logs into the data processing system; and

update the user profile updated during the user'"'"'s session.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

categorize the user into one of a plurality of power consumption categories based on the user profile.

6. The apparatus of claim 5, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

limit a frequency push of a graphics processing unit based at least in part on the user profile.

7. The apparatus of claim 5, further comprising logic, at least partially including hardware logic, to:

drive a graphics processing unit directly into a high-performance mode based at least in part on the user profile

8. An electronic device, comprising:

a processor having one or more processor cores;

logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to;

collect user information for a user of a data processing device;

generate a user profile for the user of the data processing device from the user information; and

set a power profile a processor in the data processing device using the user profile.

9. The electronic device of claim 8, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

collect at least one of a workload level consumed by the user or a processor power consumption consumed by the user.

10. The electronic device of claim 8, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

collect at least one of a user'"'"'s approximate age, eyesight level, an list of applications routinely used by the user, or a screen brightness level.

11. The electronic device of claim 8, further comprising logic, at least partially including hardware logic, to:

recall a user profile from memory when a user logs into the data processing system; and

update the user profile updated during the user'"'"'s session.

12. The electronic device of claim 8, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

categorize the user into one of a plurality of power consumption categories based on the user profile.

13. The electronic device of claim 12, further comprising logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to:

limit a frequency push of a graphics processing unit based at least in part on the user profile.

14. The electronic device of claim 12, further comprising logic, at least partially including hardware logic, to:

drive a graphics processing unit directly into a high-performance mode based at least in part on the user profile
